Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students interested in Greek life have plenty of options as to which fraternities and sororities to join, although there are no houses for them on campus. Frats and sororities are a good choice for people who feel overwhelmed and want a surefire way to make friends. Students who don’t care about Greek life need not worry, as these groups are entirely possible to ignore.

Many of the students involved in Greek life live on the noisier South Side of campus and are responsible for the rowdy environment there. This makes them easily recognizable for anyone who wants to join in their activities—or anyone who wishes to avoid them.

Greeks Try to Take Over, but Can't

There is a pretty decent amount of students who go the Greek route. Since our campus is on the small side, you see them nearly every time you are on campus. They have different events on the quad once in a while or in the MGC area. But, it isn't too overpowering ... unless your roommate is pledging.

Be Who You Are

Most students have a "be who you are" approach to most things on campus. If you're into Greek life, that's great. If you're not, it probably doesn't really affect you.

It's Just Not a Big Deal

Greek life exists and you would be hard pressed to not know people who participate. However, its not a big deal if you are or aren't part of a sorority or fraternity. The houses are all off campus and don't house most brothers or sisters. You can't rush until second semester of each year which is great because you have time to settle in and explore the different options.

If Partying is all you're looking for, there's at least one (if not more) a week.
