Social Justice and Snobs

There's a serious focus on social justice, which is my favorite thing about AU. But the people here have money, and tend to be snobby. Not everyone, but there are definitely those kids who can spend as much of their parents money as they want. And the International Relations program is renown, but I love the anthropology department because of the focus on social justice. And it's super gay -friendly.

Activities Galore.

They have an abundance of activities, so even if you're a transfer student, you can find friends very quickly. It's great! there are so many clubs and organizations, if you don't join one, you're missing out!

Facts

Traditions Primal Scream: Around finals time, students gather in the courtyard between Hughes and McDowell halls to yell their heads off for Primal Scream and watch other students flash them from the overlooking dorms. It’s a stress reliever.
Urban Legends
  • A giant mutant beaver-type creature prowls the campus at night.
  • An old woman who lived near campus donated a huge sum of money before her death for the perpetual garden maintenance that goes on.
  • The black squirrels and gray squirrels that live on campus constantly fight each other.
