Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

No matter what type of cuisine you are craving, D.C. is the perfect place to satisfy your taste buds. It seems that every country in the world not only has an embassy in D.C., but also a restaurant. The more adventurous your tastes run, the more fun you’ll have exploring cuisine in the city. There is every type of food imaginable, and restaurants range from fine dining experiences to fast food.

Fortunately, for students with thin wallets, there are cheap diners and eateries that surround campus. In nearby Tenleytown alone, there are restaurant spots that serve Mexican, French, Japanese, Thai, and classic American food. Students stress the importance of going beyond the comforts of fast food and late-night pizza and experiencing the endless international flavors the city offers.

DC Has So Many Great Restaurants!

There are a ton of great places to eat in this city. Whether you're into ethnic food or good ol' American burgers, you will find plenty of excellent choices, many of them within walking distance or just a few metro stops away. Some of my recommendations: The Diner or Tryst in Adams Morgan, Chef Spike's places near the capitol (Good Stuff and We the Pizza), Shop House in Dupont Circle, Nando's in either Chinatown or Dupont. There are so many great dessert places as well: Baked and Wired, Pink Berry, Afterwords Cafe, and of course, Goergetown Cupcake. If you're looking for a nice date night or somewhere expensive to take the 'rents: Founding Farmers, Bistro du Coin, Clydes.

Off Campus Dining

Theres some pretty good places to get take out from, and you are technically in DC so you can always find something. But just because you're in DC doesn't mean you're really in the city, and it takes a while to get downtown between the shuttle and the metro. So it's not like you can grab off campus lunch between classes...and its DC...so every things expensive.

Off-Campus Dining

Off Campus dining can be good as well as cost effective as long as you are smart about where you go. There are always cheap places around, but also a share of rather expensive places.
