I am a current student at Ambria College of Nursing in the RN program. I have nothing but positive things to say about Ambria. Many years ago I obtained my CNA and after 15 years I obtained my LPN at a local community college. I have been an LPN for 7 years and found that there were to many gen eds I had to take, and retake along with taking the TEASE Test to go back to school at my local community college to obtain my RN. I did not have time to waste, so as nursing in Illinois is changing, I found Ambria the best choice for me. I did not have to take the TEASE Test, all my gen eds transferred and I didn't have to repeat classes. I have GREAT Teachers at Ambria, the staff has always been there when I had questions. Nursing School is what a person makes it. If you want a positive experience you have to be positive. Again, Ambria is a GREAT Nursing School and the staff along with the dedicated students make it a GREAT place to learn and reach your dreams of becoming an RN!!!!
I'm currently in the RN program (completed the LPN program), after trying to get into a community college program (not because of low grades but because of time) I got frustrated and looked into private school options. This HONESTLY was the right fit for me. I read the negative reviews and felt I needed to put out my positive experience. People really need to understand Ambria isn't your community college it hasn't had policies and programs established by the state- This school actually cares what kind of students and NURSES they produce and send into the world. While working as an LPN I've come across so many people that should have never graduated ... But I'm a great NURSE because of this program at THIS school. A lot of people say "they don't care" just want to make money... Well then why did so many people hold my hand and really guide me through the process... NOT only that but they open up so many realms to succeed if you actually make use of them. Some may feel they are strict but wouldn't you want your nurse if your sick to come from a tough school?

I have a hard time understanding, and I am a slow learner, that's why I could not make it at CLC. Ambria works for me bc the teachers are very good but the administrators have the final say if you pass or not. I try very hard to learn but it is so much material and they teachers just pile it on us and not thinking that we have other things to do beside study. Community college administrator will not be on the student side, but at Ambria they are. I tell everybody about this school
I don't agree with some of the decisions they have made about their curriculum . I believe they could do a better job to provide a better education.
I was offered a grant worth $3,800 and the school only accepted $2,000 which was upsetting. The process of applying was easy.
I chose this school because they are very flexiable with my other scheduals and the people who work there were very helpful and nice, especially the people in the financial aide department!
