Great Education – This really is a great school that will prepare you for your career.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Very Expensive – I'm still having a hard time grasping how much I'm paying for school. Most people will get some financial aid, which helps a lot, but its still a big chunk of money. Although it is a private school, they have excellent teachers, great labs, and great job placement stats. It also shouldn't be too difficult to pay off any loans once you get a job in your field.

Glad I Came Here – I was very nervous about the price of enrollment at Ameritech, but I soon realized that the education I'm getting is worth the cost. The equipment is top of the line, the instructors are great, and the material prepares you well for a medical career.

From what I have heard, since I have not yet graduated myself, the career placement office works really hard to get you a job that you will love! That's something that a lot of other colleges won't do.

Dont Get Behind – It is a smaller school so you need to get registered as soon as you can if you want the best class for your schedule. Teachers are available and friendly and want you to succeed.

Just beware I would strongly suggest going somewhere else.
Recent Alumnus 2012-03-13T05:19:40Z
they require you in class at all times, and have a very strict attendance policy

Read Carefully – I remember going and taking a tour of the school and being told how flexible schedules and staff are. NOT THE CASE AT ALL. To register you sit in front of a computer and the moment the clock turns to a specified tim you have to hit the submit button and hope you got your schedul in first because at that same moment 50 other people are pushing their buttons. Schedules are always registered for on a sunday usually around 1PM and if you can't be in fron of the computer to hit send you are SOL. Attendance policy is crap. Miss more than one day you are on probation. I had to for to a funeral and recieved my paperwork when I got back. This school is not a school. Ir is a business and run like one. The money is the bottom line and you will find very few people that give a crap about the students. When I first started we had a great staff however most of them are gone now and we are left with the rejects that can't find a job anywhere else.

Happy With My Choice – I'm 42 years old, and I wasn't too sure about attending school again, but I had a talk with admission and they assured me that I could do it! I'am very proud of my decision to go back to school.

Nursing at Ameritech – The campus I attend school at is primarily nursing students and so we are by far the majority. The school revolves around our program, which has mandatory attendance among other rules that are not a part of every program. The workload is intense but necessary for the accelerated program. The curriculum is relevant.

Flexibility at Ameritech – Ameritech is like many other schools in that the flexibility varies from instructor to instructor. There are very little options for class schedules. I have had a fantastic experience with transfer credits and most instructors are willing to reevaluate and admit if they are wrong. They also refuse to be walked on and will not back down when they know they are right.

Registration Process – First come, first serve registration through email requests. Makes it tough because you are assigned a certain day and time and if the email doesn't go through for some reason, you don't get registered. Have tried to talk to administration about improving the process but they won't listen to suggestions.

Very Expensive Associate's Degress – Accelerated program which is nice, but maybe not worth the money

Very Pleased – The instructors are very approachable and makes the material learned in class easy to learn. The faculty listens to input from the students and helps to improve different features available to students.

Teachers and Registration...UGH – There are a few teachers at Ameritech that are GREAT, but they are few and far between how terrible the rest of the staff is. Some teachers base the load of work on whether they like your class or not and teach and grade off of emotions, which is extremely unprofessional. Many of the nursing instructors haven't a clue what they are doing and therefore cannot teach the students anything. For a school that is trying so hard to become accreditied, it is surprising to me that they keep on with these teachers that are obviously bringing this school down. Our class registration process is a joke. I could not truly describe what a mess it is to you unless you already attend Ameritech-and then you would already know how it is anyway ;)

Not Flexible at All for the Student – It is very difficult to transfer credits to this school. The classes had to have been taken within the last 5 years and even if they were, it is still a fight to get the college to accept them because they want to make as much money off of each student as they possibly can. The schedules are not flexible at all. The student has very little say on what class dates/times and clinicals they prefer. There is a lot of frustration trying to register for each new semester. Wouldn't recommend this school just for that reason alone although I also have PLENTY more reasons for not recommending them to others.

Lack of Computers and Printing – There are no computers for students to use on campus. Students are required to have a laptop for just a few things during the semester, but the school network ALWAYS has problems. The administrative staff will print some documents for you, but not without charging you. The school ranks in very poorly in this area.
College Senior 2010-06-08T23:51:58Z
Non-Traditional Students – Most of the students at my school and non-traditinal students with professional attitudes.
College Senior 2010-06-08T23:46:41Z
No Wait List for the RN Program – Unlike most other schools of nursing this one had no waitlist and no pre-reqs that were required before entering the program

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Finacial Aid at Ameritech – The education I am getting is at a very expensive cost. I had to apply for federal fincial aid, but that only coves part of the tuition so I had to also get a private loan. The school requires that you take finacial aid quizes that ae very time consuming. It was a hassle to go through all the quizzes and reading all the info, but the finacial aid office workers are available for any questions
Sorry, there are no reviews.
