Anderson University is a great school for academics, but AU also requires many community service hours and other campus events that are required for graduation. I work 30+ hours a week to help pay for school, so it is very hard to try to work to pay for school, on top of making it to campus events just so I can graduate.

The financial aid process took about 2 weeks. I had to meet multiple times with the financial aid office and they are not the nicest people on the planet.

there's not much to do besides go to class and go back home. There aren't many social aspects of the school that are enjoyable.

I do not personally use the campus labs because they get crowded, very quick.

The workload gets heavy sometimes, but professors are very understanding and will extend deadlines.
College Freshman 2013-11-18T03:07:29Z
There is nothing social going on except for at school.

Never late for class. Transit is always on time.

Even when the skies are gray, students are always looking forward to class.

I know nothing of the bar/club scene and I'm not the party type. I've got too much studying to complete to think about partying.

Campus offers students many amenities and makes it easy for anyone to find their place. It has an older architectural style, though the buildings have been maintained well so it doesn't appear as if the school has seen many days. The arts are important there so there's always something going on that students can choose to attend.

I am in the accelerated program and it's definitely a lot to balance. The course load is intense and it doesn't always feel like there's enough time to complete everything, however that's the mark of a school that demands excellence. I know once I finally finish and graduate, all of the sleepless nights will have been worth it as I'll have a degree from a prestigious university. That will open many doors for me in the future.

There are many majors to choose from, which leaves students with many options. The professors are very knowledgable in their fields and demand the best from their students.

There aren't a lot of off-campus housing options and you may pay a bit more than you would for a dorm. However, if you can find something, the added freedom is probably worth it.

it's been awesome so far

Guys & Girls:
Lots of different types from the rich and up there, to the regular old country boy, and the military people that can work with school easily about deployment issues. Everybody is very open though and generally friendly, it's one of those campuses where after you start to get to know people you never run into a stranger anywhere.

There's rarely a time when you can't get a pretty good parking spot. The only problem is when the school hosts some large events the parking will fill up for the event and students are out of luck.

Most of Anderson University students live on campus. I am basing my grade on word of mouth of other students.

There are all kind of races and denominations at AU, the leading percentage is caucasian and southern baptist. As a result, most of the activities, events, and style of classes and chapel mostly reflect this percentage of the schools body.

The drug scene at AU is not noticeable. The only time I really heard of drug usage was twice. As far as drinking, I hear about it, but it is always done off campus. I have never seen smoking, although I'm pretty sure some students do. Maybe it depends on the people you hang out with, but as far as me I only mostly hear about drug use.

I am a biology major at Anderson, and I have really enjoyed it so far. The professors in the program are wonderful and very willing to help students in any way possible. Since the department is so small, scheduling can be an issue at times, but the class size is small and I find that very helpful.

The availability of computers is usually not a problem, but there are times when it can be hard to find a computer. Sometimes teachers reserve the main computer lab so students have to go to the old one where the computers are much slower. A big problem is the printers. You never know if the printer will work from one day to the next. I would advise students to have a personal laptop.

Drug and alcohol usage is not an obvious issue at Anderson University. There are those who participate in these things, but it is very dependent on who you chose as friends. It is very easy to avoid trouble at this school.
College Junior 2013-08-13T15:28:46Z
Anderson has a high acceptance rate. The student body is not very diverse, a large majority of the students are white and there are more females than males. Of course, being a baptist university there is a religious vibe throughout the campus.

The weather in Anderson, South Carolina is hot and humid in the summer and has frigid winters. Some days will reach the 90s in the summer and can get down in the 20s in the winter.

Anderson University is a very well kept institution. The athletic events are fun and full of spirit from fans and fellow students.
