This school is ranked one of the most diverse universities in the country.

I have not heard anything about people doing drugs or alcohol.

I've heard it gets hot and muggy in the summer. The winter is very cold. But at the beginning of school the weather is nice.

The only thing in the small town by campus is a few restaurants. They are nice places even if there aren't very many of them. And there are fast food restaurants close by as well.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T21:31:55Z
There is absolutely no tolerance for drugs or alcohol on campus. Visitation rules in dorms and checkout times can be really annoying though.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T21:29:48Z
Intramurals are not advertised at all. The gym is old but at least they open it up for gym nights. Varsity sports aren't that big a deal here.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T21:27:47Z
There is no Greek life at this school.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T21:26:00Z
I got the highest scholarship that this school has which is part of the reason I chose it. Getting high grades in high school and testing high on your SAT/ACT will help you a lot.

I don't eat at the cafeteria because I live off-campus, but those who do eat there don't like it.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T21:23:08Z
The town by the university is very small and the only thing there really are a few small restaurants. There is a bigger city about 25 minutes away and Chicago is about 2 hours away. There are some nice beaches fairly close by.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T21:20:32Z
This school is very religious. The religious atmosphere is very present. The science program here is good too.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T21:20:32Z
The gym on campus is old and not that nice, but they do open it up for gym nights five times a week. They have a huge library and there is a lot of open spaces with lots of trees.

Guys & Girls:
The girls here are fairly attractive. Since its cold here most of the time, they all pretty much dress the same.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T21:15:30Z
I have a car, but i'm still unaware of any campus provided transportation.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T21:14:17Z
The main parking lots fill up by 10 a.m. and after that it gets really hard to find a parking spot.
Recent Alumnus 2013-10-20T02:17:31Z
The parking lot is always full around 9am. Parking your car and entering the the school takes far longer than going to a class on the other side of the building. It would literally take you around 10 minutes to get to class from the parking lot.

People from all over the world attend Andrews University

There is a great number of area attractions and activities to do close by whether if you love shopping or you love to hang out in nature. The safety of the town is also pretty safe. Many of the locals who live there also have a friendly attitude to everyone.
College Sophomore 2013-08-12T16:51:20Z
Parking does not seem to be an issue on campus. There is plenty of room.
College Sophomore 2013-08-12T16:46:57Z
The Christian environment is astounding. The teachers are very involved in the student body and always available.
College Sophomore 2013-08-12T16:45:49Z
It can be very challenging trying to find some housing off campus that is close to campus. There are nearby cities (within 10 miles) that serve as an overflow city in which some students find housing.
College Sophomore 2013-08-12T16:44:31Z
When i visited the campus during the early spring, the campus did not look all that great. The roads need some work, as well.
College Sophomore 2013-08-11T21:49:33Z
The drug scene at Andrews University is very under the radar. I know very few people who do drugs. It's a conservative religious school so it's not socially acceptable. Drinking is probably a bit more widespread but it's still a dry school. As for peer pressure, I've been asked to drink here and there, but nobody ever pushes it. I can make my own decisions without pressure from others. Policy enforcement is pretty strict. If anyone is caught doing drugs or alcohol, there is a mandatory rehab program or possible expulsion. They take this very seriously.
College Sophomore 2013-08-11T21:43:11Z
There is basically no public transportation at my school. If you want to get somewhere, you have to borrow a car or go with a friend which doesn't always work out.
College Sophomore 2013-08-11T21:41:35Z
I like the housing at my school. They're not perfect, but they're clean. Most of the dorm rooms are rather small, but they have two beds, two desks, and a pretty big closet. Most of the bathrooms are in good condition. And some rooms have a bathroom that they share with the room next to them. There are always people cleaning the hallways so it stays relatively clean. Some people are really snotty in the dorm about not making ANY noise. I understand being quiet, but it gets extreme. And then on the other end some people really do make too much noise and its super annoying. Thankfully if you're lucky you can be put on a "quiet" hall. It's really expensive, so that's a downside. It's right on campus though so it's easy to get to your classes. There are also apartments but I don't know as much about those except that they are very small and a bit further away.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
