My school pretty much outlaws everything. Including, but not limited to, drinking, smoking, sex, and any other drugs. That all seems pretty normal but then on top of that you have to attend all your classes (as if it's high school) and if you don't they'll fail you. My school treats us like children. If you want to stay out of the dorm, you have to get your parent's permission. Curfew is at 11:00 every night for the dorm. And you have to go to a certain amount of chapels and church services every semester or you get fined. There is even a rule in the rulebook that you can't wear jewelry. Thankfully they don't reinforce that, but there are plenty that they do enforce.

There is no Greek life at my school so this doesn't apply to me whatsoever.

Andrews isn't really known for drug or drinking. Maybe the students are better at hiding it, but in all its not a big thing here.

Health & Safety:
Security are very strict nowadays. We have cameras mostly in every part of the campus. So, if you obey their rules and dont do anything hasty, you'll wont get into trouble and you'll be safe.

Andrews is known for Physical Therapy, Pre-Med/Dent, and business. If you're in those particular fields, you'll have opportunities hand to you like a piece of cake. Being a Pre-P.T, the P.T. adviser will always try to put you in their list for P.T school. Of course you have to study and get at least a 3.7 gpa in science. Nonetheless, they always help with class scheduling and once you graduate, there's a high probability of you finding a job fast.

There's no "Greek Life" at Andrews. We're a Seventh Day Adventist University were we don't have any sort of Greek life. There's no frat or sorority here and might never be one.

The options around campus for dining and food are very limited. They seem to not understand that we students love the ability to choose for our self what we want to eat. The food here are mostly vegetarian and can sometimes be dull when eating it 5 times a week. I highly suggest saving up money and buying food at local supermarket than getting the food card.

You'll survive. Sunday Brunch is the best and the vegetarian food is passable.

Most people have their own computer, but there is easy access on campus to computers and printers

My school's co-op program has provided me with work experience that is much more impressive than any other college grads I know. Right now, while you are looking at schools, you may think that a fifth year or spending some of your summer at school is weird, but trust me, I would not change anything in my program! Plus, being in Boston allows hands-on learning at museums, planetariums, and other cultural attractions.

Andrew's campus life is like no other. There are tons of organizations to join, and there are always fun activities and events going on across campus.

Public transportation is really good around Andrews. They have buses running all the time, and if you need a bus to pick you up late at night, then there's a number you can call, and they'll come get you whenever you need them.

If drugs are used on campus it's used secretly because it is highly frowned upon and not tolerated.
College Sophomore 2013-07-22T22:26:54Z

I've lived in Berrien Springs the majority of my life & never have I felt so isolated while living in the dorms. I've only lived there for one year & it is a pain. The one thing that bothers me the most is the sanitation of the public bathrooms. They never look/feel/smell clean & it's disgusting. You also HAVE to live in the dorms if your immediate family doesn't live close to town. I tried to live with my mother's cousin & they refused. It seems like Andrews just wants your money. This shows especially well with the financial clearance process. It takes a while for advisors to get back to you & tell you every detail you're entitled to. You literally have to juice them for information which is rather annoying. It also goes for the food services. Everything is MAJORLY overpriced, especially in the Gazebo. Andrews is supposed to be a non-profit organization, there is no need for the absurd $3 granola bars you can get at Wal-Mart for 99 cents. All that aside, there are great programs at AU. I'm in the Visual Arts program & most of the teachers show apparent care & willingness to further your career opportunities.

Andrews could be summarize in just one sentence: Private school where people meet their future love ones.. Simple as that.

There arnt very many great restaurants in the city to enjoy. Also, not very many student discounts. City of Niles has a little more options for off-campus dining. This is approximately 10 miles from Andrews University

Although there is not much to do in Berrien Springs itself, there are some nearby cities to find some attractions in. Indiana is not far from the campus and there are lots of shopping malls in that area.
