Angelo State University, and San Angelo by extension, has a small, friendly feel. In addition to a standard choice of majors, ASU offers many programs throughout the semester for entertainment, and there is a club for everyone if a student does some digging. No matter what taste a student has, there will be a club of like-minded people, and overall, people are generally accepting of each other, even if they disagree with them.

The city has all the comforts of a larger city with the feel of a small town. There is very little to be left wanting when at ASU or in San Angelo. However, students that come from larger metropolitan areas may find the small size on the boring side due to minimal variety. On the flip side, students coming from rural ares are likely to love having things to do without a long drive. A few students dislike the area, and a few students love it, but overall, many are happy with the choice to come to ASU.
