Being at a community college makes it harder to make lasting friendships. I have been there for two years and I still don't know many people. Everyone has their own friends and their own lives outside of college. But, this college is very diverse and has a high acceptance of diversity. Anyone can fit in here.

The main reason I chose this school was because of how flexible the class schedules are. I am able to work around my personal schedule, which is great.

they are pretty good at offering a course all throughout the week so you can make your schedule based on your free time

The school has been very helpful with its multiple locations. For the fall semester I was working full time and going to school time and the satellite locations made it possible for me to work and go to school without having to sacrifice one more than the other. There was one class that I was not too pleased with, I believe the teacher was new, which would explain his nervousness and how he taught the class. With the exception of that class Anne Arundel Community College is a very good school and some of my other professors teach have taught at Towson, Harvard and other Ivy League schools.

Overall my academic experience so far has been simply awesome. ALL of my classes have been great and my teachers have been very helpful, friendly, and easy to get along and communicate with. Overall, the workload is challenging but do-able.

Very flexible scheduling and a very wide range of classes.

Campus is neatly kept. There are a few campus activities but held at horrible times when most people have class.

Computer labs are fine. Printing on campus is easy. Network reliability is sketchy as they use Internet Explorer and is so slow and constantly crashing. Wireless access is easy in that you just enter your email address into the network logon page. Do you need a personal laptop or computer? No. but it will aid in the speed of getting work done. Internet Explorer just sucks. Plain and simple.

Overall the network system is good. Sometimes though the internet is slow or you can't connect.

Im a business major and I knew some of the curriculum before we started. I have however learned a great amount that I feel will one day help me start my own business. The hands on activities and research really helps to improve reseach skills.

I feel that the professors at AACC are very helpful and want their students to be successful. If Ii ever have questions, they are more then happy to make time in their schedule to explain things to me. I also feel that the workload is managable and expected it to be a lot harder before I started college.

I complete the Graphic Design and Photography degrees at AACC. My courses were consistent in workload and curriculum with is very important. The majority of my professors were excellent and I would recommend them to anyone. All of the courses I was required to take and the electives I chose to take kept me interested and in the end I felt like a had a solid foundation to begin a career in the arts.

AACC just built an excellent new and modernized library with computer labs and quiet study rooms. One thing that I really appreciate at AACC is the quality and number of computer labs on each side of the campus.

Many students are of full-time workers with families and high school students looking to complete their general education and transfer. Since Anne Arundel is a community college many people come to school, take their classes, and go home afterwards. This is probably because their isn't any housing and not many people have time to socialize due to having jobs, families, etc. on top of their schoolwork.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
There is one particular full time professor in the Interior Design program that chooses favorites for students. If you are not one of them, you can expect to have a very difficult time in class. I had filed for incomplete in two of my other classes just so i could make sure her work was complete and so i could get an A which i deserved. I now am struggling with financial aid eligibility and she never seemed to notice that I had more classes than just hers. She had also discussed with me in front of the entire class that i would be receiving an F because she didn't like me. Do whatever you can to avoid a professor like that it will cause you a serious headache.

Most teachers are flexible in scheduling issues concerning full time students with full time jobs. As long as there is constant communication between the student and teacher, most informed professors don't have a problem with late/early work due to scheduling issues and will work with you, even if it means extending office hours to meet with a student in need.

The campus prides itself on diversity. On the campus webpage is artwork done by college students chosen from a drawing with rewards such as discounted books. The is a student callendar with events that encourage comradery such as breakfast with santa, Halloween parties, Comedians, Talent shows, etc.

There are programs involved with placing students into their desired career as an observer and learner or "intern." Some of these programs include work force or fieldwork to encourage a student to "test the waters" and become hands on in their career. This is also a great networking tool, as some students are able to get their name out into the real world and recognized for the genuine work they did as an understudy.

There are billboards everywhere with groups to join and events to attend. Everyone is welcome, as it seems like the common theme on compus is come how you are and expect to learn! The student center can direct you anywhere you need to go and is devoted to help students.

Computers and Computer labs are everywhere! you must log in and log out. Some review math classes are done in computer labs as well. Students may access any computer with a student login and password which makes getting work done extremely convenient!

I know for a fact that a lot of jobs hire students from AACC before other college students. AACC prepares you also of what to expect after you graduate.

I am giving the AACC RN program an A+. The professors there really care about us students and will go out of there way to help us in any way they can. The RN mentor is also a very great resource we have in our program. The RN mentor prepares us for our upcoming tests, study tips, organization skills, and so forth. I would not want to go to any other college for the RN program. :)

AACC has the best Nursing Program :) Very strict, but they want us to be the best!

I can admit, some courses can be tough. It all in how you plan and study. Its best to stay on top of things so that you don't fall behind. Most of the professors I had are very friendly, always emailed back in a timely matter.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
