I Had to Drop – my online course because the professor was ridiculous. waste of time. so much easier to do classes in person once a week.

Easy Classes, Learn a Lot – I've learned more here than at my old private university and the classes offer a very manageable workload. All my classes will transfer to UC's and Cal-states so I am very happy with my experience.

Eveything is wonderful except the way managment treats you if you are an older student! No RESPECT at all.

Proud Being a Student – Everything is perfec at my school EXCEPT one important thing and that is if I was a young student I would of quit going to colege reason for this is I was working in Maintains and Operations for close to a year. Doug Jenson and Erin Hitchman took over managment, they let me go because I did not fit in they told me. That was not even close to why the let me me! It was because Erin did not like me I am old enough tobe her mother and she woud make me go around her plans, she does not care about students enless you are younger than her. She has had a lot of problems with others and Iwas told about it when I first went there to work. I am upset about this because she went as far as to cut me down to 10 hours per week to have me leave, she complained so much about me to her boss (Doug) he let me go. The way she treats some of the people that come t the office is really sad.

It's Okay – They aren't up-to-date with technology and the resources are too used and outdated.

Lack of Proper Equipment – Most of the labs do not have the proper materials such as catalysts to do proper science work

Lack of Classes and Technology – There is not enough classes. Budget cuts are killing us students and there have already been 3 rallies where students leave class to protest.
Also, many of the school's supplies and tech is outdated and 20 years old. Furniture in the library needs to be replaced.

A Lot of Useful Facilities – There's a learning center, convenient library and multiple computer labs that students can use to study.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Don't Waste a Minute! Many student's tend to leave everything until the last minute, big mistake! Keep everything up to date and make sure everything is turned in on time.

This college is a community college that seems to focus more on the people who need financial aid, than the students who actually want to get an education there. The professors are very good and I've never had any problems with any of them. They are highly qualified and teach their subjects very well. The class registration process is a nightmare for the most part, due to the lack of classes, the over crowdedness of the campus, and the lack of organization on who gets priority registration. We usually don't get much homework in classes, but it always depends on the professor. AVC also offers tutors for everyone and SI, student instructors, for some courses.

I have talked to many people while being here, and most people are very friendly and fun to talk to. A very diverse group of people, not as in ethnicity, but in the sense of art, music, theatre, science heads etc.

Rate Review – The flexibility for this school isn't that great, because they don't offer many classes that meets with the students' schedule. For example, Math 125 may only be available at a particular time on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7p-10p. With no other class times available it makes it harder for other students who cannot meet this time.

This campus is not bad at all. Probably one of the nicer community college campuses in Southern California. Athletic fields are brand new and in perfect condition. Older buildings are a little dirty. Library is pretty nice. The new health and science buildings are not finished yet but they are pretty good looking buildings. Theater is brand new and is very nice. Its nice to see the solar panels over the parking areas.
The Professors are pretty chill. The curriculum is just as challenging as any other college. Classes are relatively easy to get into, as long as you plan ahead and talk to a counselor once a semester.
This is a very diverse campus. The students don't just vary in race but also in age. I am only 19 so sitting next to a 50 or even 60 year old in the library or in one of my classes is different, but that probably has a lot to do with the economic situation.
Administration... I have no idea who runs this place. Never seen a face or heard a name.
Overall, I give the campus a B+ because it is obviously not perfect. There are like 10 people with school spirit. The maintenance is lacking a bit. But the newer parts of campus are really quite nice. I heard the new health and science building is going to have a Subway restaurant in it! That's kind of exciting.

Learning Styles – I wish more professors are considering that not every one of their students have the same learning style. We all learn differently, and I hope that more of my instructors try to teach in different ways that engage us students and help is learn more effectively.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
