Tuition & Financial Aid:
The education I receive at Antelope Valley College is very good when compared to the price per unit. As I see AVC, I read once that our tuition is one of the most competitively priced. As far as the financial Aid, I have to say that the staff lacks in knowledge of certain aspects of financial aid.

There are a lot of people always on the network so sometimes you can't even get on it. And often the network is slow because of the overcrowding.

We have plenty resources. the only thing is that you have to branch off and search for them yourselves because they dont avertise it.

Everytime I goto the computer lab there isnt always enough computers available because of the over crowding of the school, so sometimes there is a wait time. The printer has been down a few times when i tried printing out a report or class assignment. And sometimes the print cards are not always working so i would have to go across the hall and use actual money to print my work.

It is an over crowded campus. There are not enough classes for everyone. Not enough people are motivated. There are alot of people that come up to the school that dont necessarily go here, that just hang out in the quad area. As for me i go here because i do want an education and it is close to home, so less gas being wasted.

There isn't anything unique about it. I feel that its like being in high school all over again.

There is always computer network, labs, and printing on campus. The down fall is that is so many people in either the 3 areas trying to do the same thing. Its over crowded. If you don't own your own computer your pretty much out of luck. And even if u have your own computer im not sure if there is wireless connection.

Mostly, my school consists of working-class people with full-time jobs or families. They often juggle many different roles in addition to being students. Everybody is attending for one reason and reason only, education. People aren't as friendly. Especially individuals on the sports team. Some people are only friends with people that have the same interest and common things in life as they do. Only religious groups go out and talk to everyone.

So far since I've been attending my college. I haven't been into the career center. But I figured it wouldn't make a difference if I went there or not, because not many people in my area discuss how our college has helped them get a career. As far as alumni network, there is none. never seen or herd any alumni's . Job prospects isn't any better. Where I live there are no jobs and I highly doubt the college is helping any one.

The english classes here are plentiful and the teachers love what they are teaching. It makes going to class more exciting. When the teacher is excited about a work, it makes you excited to read it for homework.

I realized from taking three online courses during one semester how much more I learned from the classes. Sometimes I get really bored with in-class discussions, versus being able to read the posted responses on my own time. The teachers have a nice setup for what they want their students to accomplish. It is more work than a campus class, in my opinion, but that makes my knowledge stronger.

A new building was added for the Science and Health department and is very nicely kept.

I cannot tell how the post grad services are as I have never needed to use them.

As long as you show interest to the teachers then they are willing to help.

I like how they offer many class schedules Morning, after noon and evenings.

There is a wide variety of computer labs open to students. The internet is very fast for a community college. And the fees of printing are reasonable. There is always a computer open on campus for you to use even if it is the day of midterms or finals.

I feel like this school has a very wide range of programs offered for students here in California. We have an extremely good program for Deaf Studies and Interpreting. Very hands on activities for all the classes, we have many Deaf people on our campus as well.

The facilities on campus aren't bad. For a community college we should be happy. We just got a brand new science building that is gorgeous along with our performing arts. It has great surroundings to hang out between classes and study.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The education is great but the financial aid help at the school is poor. It takes me hours to figure out any questions I may have. And for an out of state student I think the cost of tuition is outrageous and I had to come up with a lot of money on my own. They need to offer scholarships for students out of state not just California Residents. And they need to appreciate everyone who is attending the school.

The school is pretty diverse, from people straight from high school to adults going back to further their education. I haven't really paid too much attention to their financial standings or social class but as for their personalities and ethnicities, everyone is pretty diverse. Everyone is also generally very nice.

Most of the professors I've had have been very helpful and eager to fuel young minds. Love some of the lectures I've had and enjoy going to class most of the time.

The Job Placement Center is a good source on getting the proper tools to find agreeable employment. You must apply yourself. You have to submit a resume before you can even access the website to gain employment. It was a good experience.

The English professors at AVC are outstanding. They're passionate, helpful, understanding, and wise. Curriculum is more erratic, however. Some professors require what may seem like a ridiculous amount of work, while others hardly ask anything of their students. The most disappointing aspect of AVC's academic experience is the registration process here. Classes fill up within minutes, and many students wait several semesters before getting a class they desperately need.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
