The experience for me was terrific. The financial aid process in Anthem was extremely easy because of all the helpful financial aid advisors. They helped me through my whole process and answered any questions I had. Their care for the students is just outstanding.

The pharmacy technician program is demanding. I won't try to say otherwise. The workload is certainly not overwhelming, but at the same time you should be prepared to experience a noticeable decrease in the time you have available to party. This is as it should be - you are entering a field in which a mistake could prove fatal to your patient/customer, and attention to detail is paramount. You must be prepared to give learning your craft the priority it deserves. The facilities as they currently stand (March 2012) could be updated, and I know for a fact that such an update is scheduled to occur in the next two months. A larger classroom as well as newer and better equipment is planned. That being said, the current facility is adequate to teach the basics of aseptic procedure, using a horizontal and vertical flow hood, proper methods of compounding, and the various other skill sets you will be called on to acquire.
You will be required to successfully complete an internship at a local employer (they call it an externship) in order to graduate the course. The Career Services department works closely with the department head to find a good fit between you and your extern site. Job opportunities for pharmacy technicians are good, especially in the state of Florida - but you should also be prepared to become nationally certified (by taking the PTCE) before the end of your extern assignment. That certification will make it much easier to find employment, and will gain you a higher starting salary.
