The buses that run at Appalachian state are very helpful in getting you where you need to go. They sometimes run late but usually they are right on time. We also have Safe Ride that will take you somewhere you need to go if you do not feel safe walking alone.

Guys & Girls:
Social Life of Appalachian Students – The guys and girls at Appalachian are very social and outgoing. You can see people around all the time doing things together and just getting out and having a good time with friends. The social life here is very good.

Dining Halls – The dining halls on campus are ok. The food is very good but sometimes you can get tired of only having the same choices of food every day. But overall the quality of the food and everything is very good.

I really dont party so I am not really up to date on this scene. I do know if you are looking for any of that I wont be hard to find anywhere near campus.

I enjoy living on campus. It is very convenient to everything and I feel very safe walking to my dorms after dark. They have an excellent bus service so if you dont want to walk you can always take the bus.

Appilachian like most colleges does have some abuse of substances. However the majority of its campus and its students are responisble and resist the temptantion

THe facilities on campus includea wide variety of student enhanced centers. Whether is from our new student union building to our recntly up dated recreation center, Appalachian State University is excellent in making a variety of facilities availible for students and there use

Nutrition Mahor – The information that I learn is very useful. It facinates me

Indifferent to Process – I have received no financial aid, though receiving loans has never been a problem. In order to earn scholarship money, I'd recommend scheduling an appointment with someone who works in the Financial Aid Office. However, because I've never done so myself, I couldn't comment on the experience.

Housing Is Overpriced – Housing is extremely overpriced for its quality. Such reflects the price of land in Boone, however - because we live in a mountain town, land isn't readily available for building and operating a plethora of apartment complexes.

Computer Access Not Bad – Poor reliability is never an issue, though availability, depending on the time of day, may be. Printers sometimes experience kinks. However, the need to have your own computer is not critical.

ASU=Peace and Love – Appalachian State is, compared to other schools, clean for the most part and lovable. The scenery is jaw dropping, unless it rains. Campus life is good, students are generally very nice to one another and teachers are, for the most part, very interested in their students.

Very Strict...Calm Down ASU – Of course everyone is going to be drinking or even drug usage. Everyone, including professors and officers, know this will happen simply because it is college. The punishments are severe and it feels like officers are trying to get students in trouble at all times. No matter what the situation is you will get in deep trouble if you get caught.

Greek Housing NEEDS to Improve – Appalachian State and Boone do not give much importance to the Greek life. Although there are a few issues, the biggest one is Greek Housing! Why can't every fraternity and sorority chapters have their own Greek home like most other universities have!! Help the Greeks get Housing!! Most students in ASU are simply nice to everyone.

Boone's Appalcart system is great and accessible at most parts of town.

Easy to Find, but Overpriced – Good off campus apartment options, but mostly overpriced for what is included. Houses are pretty easy to find also and are much better values than apartments.

College Town in Mountain Setting – Boone is a good area to do things, especially outdoor activities when the weather is nice. There is a sort of separation between students and the local community. Not too many other fun attractions.

Guys & Girls:
Lots of Hippies, Greek Life Is Much Better – The campus is dominated by tree-huggers. Girls are mostly hot. climbing the hills keeps them in shape. Boys are mostly southern boys, from relatively small towns. Sororities have all of the hottest girls and they only date Greek guys.

TOO small, far away, trivette is awful, bathrooms disgusting

Crazy All the Time – It snows a great deal in the winter months, and classes are canceled when conditions are unsafe. In the non-Winter months, the weather can change very rapidly, but Boone is known for its beauty between Spring and Fall.

There is prevalent underage drinking, marijuana and mushroom use, but most other drugs are unusual to come by in Boone.

I came to Appalachian not sure of what I wanted to do. ASU has done a good job of building programs for new students that help them choose a major they will enjoy, and the clubs and organizations allow for unique experience unavailable in the classroom.

Small Town With Lots of People – Boone does ok with parking, but there just simply aren't enough spots for geographic reasons. However, this is forcing us to develop more sustainable solutions.

Ok, but Not the Best – Food services has fine food, but it can get repetitive. Also, prices high enough to drive away most all students who don't have to eat on campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
