so far I have been very pleased with the choice of classes.

As for college dining halls, Appalachian has the basics. There's a Chic-Fil-A and sub shop, as well as a pizzeria and burrito place. The food gets old after eating it nearly every day, but it's tolerable.

There are a variety of majors with professors who are willing to get personal and help your needs if you ask. The general workload hasn't been terrible, but that is really based on who your professor is as well.

There's a lack of options in Boone. Char is the basic club that everyone ends up at. The frat houses are off campus, so getting there is difficult sometimes. Overall, there needs to be more to the nightlife than what's here.

Financial aid seems easy enough to acquire with the university. The process is simple and easy to get through, so overall the experience is rather painless.

There are a good variety of off campus foods in Boone. I enjoy eating off campus as mush as eating on campus. Since I live off campus I have the freedom of eating off campus too.

Boone is a great town to have a college in. There are a lot of things to do when you are on campus and when you are not. There are attractions right outside of Boone in Blowing Rock as well. For Appalachian State, the atmosphere is amazing along with the incredible views of living in the mountains.

The place in and around campus are good. They provide a nice selection of different foods. I only eat there 3-5 times a week, so the food does not get that old to me.

Parking is very limited at Appalachian State and it is very hard to find a spot on campus unless you want to pay to park at the parking deck.

There are many buses that run at Appalachian State but there are times where the buses are extremely crowded and makes some people uncomfortable.

I would definitely take Economics again, the teachers are very helpful and they like to challenge the students. The thing Economics that would worry me if it was my only major is that it is very broad and not a specialized degree.

There are tons of things to do in Boone! We are in the mountains so we are close to tons of hikes, waterfalls, parks and the blue ridge parkway! There are also many cool tourist attractions you can find along the road, like advertisements for caving, ziplining, tubing, kayaking and more!

I have never felt restricted by my campus, my apartment complex is a different story. As far as campus goes, just don't speed through the main roads of campus and don't walk around belligerently drunk and in my opinion you will be fine.
College Sophomore 2013-09-04T20:43:08Z
I haven't any drugs on campus at all, but I know it happens because well this is college and college kids get into that. I would say because it is a wet campus that alcohol is more prevalent, but I haven't seen anyone drinking yet.

I had a hassle with the financial aid office last year and I ended up not getting to come, but that wasn't their fault. I would say that the financial aid process is going to be a headache no matter how much you're borrowing. It's just a hassle that no one wants to deal with but has to in order to come to school or to get people into school. Not necessarily the school's financial aid office's fault.

There is plenty to do in Boone during the day and night. Plenty of eateries, clubs, and bars. Plus there are generally multiple parties going on throughout the weekend if you like doing that sort of stuff. Just get in contact with people who generally go to parties and catch a ride with them. There is also multiple services that can get you back to your house or apartment safely without you having to drive back if you're over 21 and drinking.

When the weather is nice, everyone goes outside and some teachers even have classes outside. But, the snow will come and classes will continue as scheduled. They rarely get cancelled.

The appalcart buses run all day and have several pick-up locations throughout town and the campus. If you are out late, you can call to be picked up by the van, which will take you wherever you need to go in town.

Computers in the library always work great. Printing is offered at a decent price and (unless its exam time) its never too crowded. However, internet in the dorms can be spotty and frustrating
Sorry, there are no reviews.
