It is very easy to get around town with public transportation. The bus is free, Appalachian State has Safe Ride, which is also free.

The AppalCart Bus System is great...free..even to visitors. Serves campus and makes runs off campus to shopping, dining, living areas.

Appalcart is free and takes you anywhere inside Boone. The bus to the Charlotte airport is moderately priced, as well.
