Not Too Bad – The Finaid committee does as much as they can do based on your profile.

The weather correlates with the seasons. It's certainly not hot all year long. The winters are brutal.

Haven't Started Yet – Although I have a great feeling for all the faculty I have met thus far, I have not yet begun classes at this school. I am a transfer student and am entering my junior year this fall.

Summer Orientation Was the Key – As a transfer student, getting into the program was very easy. I just spoke with the transfer advisor and told him my intended major. During summer orientation, I met with my program advisor, discussed my transferred credits, mapped my degree completion plan, and signed up for my fall classes.

It Is Okay – The food does get repetitive, but it's not that bad. The Chat food is better than the dining hall food.

Severe Punishment – The punishments can be severe when it comes to violating the drinking and drug policies. The housing assistants will get you busted, well most will. Violating these drinking and drug policies can result in letters home to family, mandatory drug and alcohol classes, and risk of losing housing and being at the school all together.

Buses or Trains Are the Best Way to Go – The train station is about a mile down the road right through town, and the bus station is right outside the campus. I take the train every day I come to school, it's cheap and convenient , I love it.

Crowded Labs and Slow Connection – Sometimes the connection is slow depending on where you are at the school. During midterms and finals, finding a computer in the library or the lab can be slim to none.

Health & Safety:
Cutest Campus Ever – It is nearly impossible to feel unsafe on Arcadia's cute little campus. Even at night the campus is well lit, comfortable and scenic.
College Junior 2012-07-17T17:40:46Z
Oak Summit or Towers – Most Arcadia students in their second year choose to live off campus because the expense of living on campus proves costly. The trouble with this is that there aren't many places to choose from. There are two apartment complexes in the area that most students choose to live in called Oak summit and Towers at Wyncote, but space fills up quickly. Some students may also choose to live in the city or at one of the more distant complexes, but paying for transportation can be difficult. Overall off campus housing is available and relatively comfortable, but not very easy to get.

Guys & Girls:
The trait that is most consistent between all Arcadia students is their sense of adventure. As a school set up for international study almost every person, male and female, has a desire for an ambitious international experience. Thus, Arcadia's student body is culturally aware and venturesome in both an academic and social way.

This past year, Arcadia got a TON of rain in the fall, so it is a place where you do want to invest in a pair of rainboots but it is really nice when the weather warms up.

I'll never find a job. Anthropology? I need a higher degree, and then a teacher degree, then maybe I'll be a teacher. If I get a phD

Moderate grades, moderate SAT scores. I got good grades and went to a considerable high school, should have gotten more aid... Everyone who I knew that applied was accepted

have been unsuccessful in finding an opportunity that is available to me.

Cultural Anthropology – Flexibility with academic plan. Will study abroad. Not a popular major, therefore the anthropology classes I need to graduate are not offered every semester/year, so I'm worrying about how to fulfill classes needed to graduate. Fulfilling classes that are interesting with intruiging discussions and topics. Best faculty! I'm unsure what I'll be able to do with my degree and see little job opportunities.

Getting Better – A new student center was just opened this year and is great. It's very modern and lots of fun. It serves many purposes. Arcadia is working on more for the students.

Take the Train – Buses are okay, but sometimes late. Trains are pretty decent. Arcadia does not provide any type of transportation.

Not a Party School – There aren't any frats or sororities, but some house parties.
College Junior 2012-06-26T14:28:40Z
Fair Workload, Interesting Opportunities – There is not a bad workload at all, but this does appear to differ depending on the major you choose. If you are more inclined to be a math or science major, expect to have more work than a liberal arts major for example. There is always free time to do what you like to do, so you won't find yourself terribly stressed although there will be times where that may happen. The campus tries to balance work with fun, and has some activities and there is always studying abroad which is definitely an interesting experience.

Health & Safety:
Extremely Safe – There aren't any incidents on campus, and it is a very safe campus regardless. For its close proximity to Philly, it is immensely safe. The police will patrol and there is always campus security that patrols as well. As for walking around at night, there should be no problems, and you shouldn't have anything to worry about when in dorms.
College Junior 2012-06-26T14:16:58Z
Train Within Walking Distance – If you don't have a car on campus, you can walk to the train, which is about a 10 minute walk. The train can take you into Philly or anywhere else you might want to go, but there is not really any campus transportation, so if the weather is bad it is nice to have a car. If you want to go anywhere other than the small town of Glenside, a car is also your best option.
College Sophomore 2012-06-21T23:21:41Z
It is a very dry campus. Not many "partiers" go there.
College Junior 2012-06-13T22:25:03Z
Got to Love Chemistry – It can seem tough at times but it is really worth it. I want to be a forensic scientist and Arcadia has a great program for it. I also love chemistry and it is really fun doing the labs once you get the basics down
College Junior 2012-06-13T22:18:18Z
It Is a Small Campus – Arcadia is such a small campus you don't need to take any transportation. Everything is so close together and it is really nice. If there is an event that needs transportation, Arcadia will provide it.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
