It's decent but nothing incredibly fun or entertaining

The university doesn't control the weather therefore it should not count for or against it.

The academic building were pretty nice as were the dorms.

AU does the best with that it had, at least at the time I graduated. It was a small school community, however I think they have branched out since I graduated.

The people that play sports usually do so for recreation, not necessarily competition or for scholarship. The only sport AU was notable for was men's soccer.

Arcadia university is very small doesn't have much around campus. The university does a pretty good job keeping students busy through the student activities organized by the school. Because the campus is so small it is hard good parking, but if you get to class early you will be able to find decent parking.

The weather in Glenside Pennsylvania has your average east coast weather; it snows and rains. However, fortunately the campus is pretty small and it is easy to access all your classes without getting trapped in the weather.

Arcadia University is a pretty small school, so diversity is easy to spot. However, Arcadia University is well known for study abroad, leading to many faces from all around the world. Everyone at arcadia hold their own personality and is individually unique.

If you want it, I'm sure you can find it somewhere. However, it is not really out in the open. If people do drink, it is usually just a low key hang out in someone's room. Public safety and the RAs are very strict about making sure underage people do not have access to alcohol. There is a zero tolerance for drugs.

The cost of a parking permit for the year is $60, which I personally find to be a little pricey. If you forget to put up your hang tag, you will be ticketed. However, you can always dispute the ticket, especially if it is your first offense. It is not necessary to have a car on campus, but I personally find the freedom very convenient. Public transportation is very good in this area. If you do decide to drive to class, you might want to give yourself about 10 minutes to make sure you find a spot and can walk to class. I usually only gave myself about 2 minutes, which sometimes worked out for me but when there were no spaces near that building, I usually ended up being about 5 minutes late to class.

There are apartments right across the street loads of options if you have a car and are willing to have a 10-20 minute commute from Arcadia. There are also different houses in the area that are willing to rent to Arcadia students. The price varies greatly between locations, so don't be afraid to do a little digging around to find the perfect place for you to live.

Our school is very diverse in all ways, we emphasize the importance of acceptance and we take any transgressions very seriously.

There are zipcars available for getting around town and also public transportation with a bus stop right across the street, so it is not bad. The campus is pretty small so a lot of transportation isn't needed.

The dining hall is just horrible. I have seen so many mice, the staff can be rude, and we also failed our health and safety inspection. The chat is the only other option for food on campus and is better than the dining hall but not by much.

Public transportation is really easy to find around Arcadia University. There is a bus stop right outside the main entrance and the train station is less than a mile up the road. We also have ZipCar now at our school so that you can borrow a car for a predetermined period of time at any point during the school year.

As a biology major there are many internship possibilities from research to a desk job. It really depends on what your interests are in the field and the company you're with to determine if it will be paid or not. I got an internship position with a medical device company that was paid but also did research at the university that was not. Generally, it is easy to find one because there are so many options.

Guys & Girls:
There are more females that attend Arcadia than males. The is a split between the guys, some are jock like while others are artsy. There is a huge variety of looks of the female students. If you put yourself out there, you will find friends!

The freshman dorms aren't the greatest, however a few freshman have the opportunity to dorm in Arcadia's castle. There are two places that most upperclassman resident on- campus; Oak and Knight. Knight is a newer building and it has pod living area with a community kitchen on each floor. Oak is a short walk off campus and is like an apartment complex.

If it's diversity you want, you got it at Arcadia! There are students from all over; we have students from as far away as Hawaii, Alaska, and foreign countries such as China. There are also a fair amount of commuter students. Arcadia is a bit pricey, but I have met many students from different economic backgrounds. Also, Arcadia is very accepting of all students and their sexual orientation.

Arcadia is just outside of Philadelphia, so all the great things the city has to offer is at your fingertips, but the comfort, safety, and relaxed feeling of a smaller main street America town is where you live. Visit the Art Museum, the Franklin Institute, the Liberty Bell, and South Street.

The application process for this program is completely normal. There are no extra steps to get in to this program. If you have been accepted to the University, you can be enrolled in the Biology program.
College Senior 2013-05-22T15:50:21Z
I am happy with the program for the most part. There is a heavy focus on lower order organisms which I think does not deserve the amount of coursework that is done on it. It is important, but human biology is also very important and deserves to be studied more in the required Biology classes. My concern about finding a job is that Arcadia is locally known for the quality of education students receive but outside of the tri-state area I worry that Arcadia is not known and employers and grad schools may not recognize the quality of education I received.
College Senior 2013-05-22T15:41:29Z
Arcadia University offers students in the Biology program a great education. The curriculum is rigorous. Professors are experts in their fields, and are interested in student success. Research opportunities are available to all students. Experience like that is rare to be available to undergraduate students.

All the students support all the athletes, they have a fan bus and they go to away games to cheer the team and they end up winning. Arcadia University is a family ad everyone supports each other in the best way that they can.

Public Safety is very strict with underage drinking and drug use. When caught with alcohol, you receive a class about the dangers of alcohol. When caught for drugs, you are immediately reported to police.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
