Public Safety has many different amenities on campus to help students feel safe. The first is the safety staff, which features Public Safety officers on patrol 24 hours a day. Another service is the emergency notification system which sends alerts to students and staff via e-mail and text messages. Plus, there are student desk receptionists that monitor who comes in and out of the residence halls during the evening hours. Whether a campus is set in an urban setting or in a rural one, there's always a chance that something can go wrong. The best way to stay safe on any campus is just to be smart and think before you do. One thing to remember is never walk alone in the dark. Campus escorts are available for walking to and from on-campus facilities at night.
