I re-entered college to complete a Psychology degree I began a long time ago. Much to my surprise, I had enough credits transferred to be in mid-junior year. I really thought this may be a disadvantage since I was not used to being in school any more, but my professor and counselors have been very helpful in getting my curriculum plan in place. We have tutoring online available if needed, and tech support has been great. I have discovered quite a few new things about myself in my current class and expect to continue to be challenged and educated while enrolled here.

So far my professors and advisors have been very "hands-on" to ensure that my learning and work is on track.
The professors ask questions and check discussion groups often, sometimes having other questions within the group that sparks more discussion. My academic advisor, coach, admissions representative and finance counselor have all been very hellpful and understanding in getting me back into the swing of things after being away from school for so long.

I attend Argosy Online University and part of every class is discussion groups and assignments. So far I have found that most students enjoy participating and sharing different ideas and cultures and the challenges of making it all work in the "real world" of the employed.
We are a varied bunch, ranging from young working students to military retirees (and other retirees) to everything in between. Some of us are professionals and seeking to learn more about our field of work. The majority of students I have spoken with are older and have work experience but want to land the degree and hopefully the better job or promotion it will bring. I have not encountered negativity or rejection in any of the discussion groups and don't believe I will. Sometimes a bit of time spent in the work environment takes care of immaturity and impulsive judgements.

I enjoy being able to work and study on my own time as I have a young child and he requires most of my time and energy. At first I struggled because I was less disciplined, but now I am finding it very easy to obtain a 3.8 or higher in my classes. You save money on gas by not commuting to a campus. You must learn time management which is essential to being successful in online classes. The only thing I miss is the community involvement and getting to know my peers and teachers on a more interpersonal basis. You can ask your online instructors anything, but it may take them awhile to get back to you. Nothing beats being in the classroom and being able to ask your professor questions on a specific subject while it is being covered.

I would assume that most students are able to maintain a decent grade even with school and family as teachers are really understanding to this, but also students in an online school must be really disciplined. It can be chaotic having a class every five weeks, but the ongoing engagement in classes keeps the brain working and fresh. You begin to get into a routine that makes life a little easier, as assignments are always due on the same days and a ‘module’ always begins and ends on the same days.

Online classes are have been a great learning experience and very flexible in my work schedule.Online classes have been fun and enjoyable. The affordability is reasonable. The interactions with other students have been very productive in class support. The financial aide and academic support has been wonderful. The resources I have access to, makes it possible to help you understand and learn in each class.

Everything you need and any questions you might have Argosy has the proper resources to accommodate a student needs. Their support is outstanding along with the help and understanding of financial aide and academic counseling. The classes are all linked with e-books, this cuts down on students cost and the interactions with students help provide additional support within each course. This is in my opinion, one of the best online experience I have ever had. I'm not only learning, but also able to attend, because of their affordable and their financial aide support.

What sets Argosy unique from other schools is the interaction with the faculty. They always call at the beginning of each class and interduce themselves and to make sure everything is understood and there is no problems

I started with blended classes and did well. I transfer strictly to online classes and my first two class did not go that great, because I was unsure about APA format.

The student is diverse from recent graduates of highschool to those like myself who have been in the workforce and are returning to school. They have various clubs that address the different ethnic groups and sexual preference.
