The registration process is a breeze. Outside help could be improved upon however.

The staff in the Medical Laboratory Science program are terrific and are there for you every step of the way.

The film and media program at ASU is one of the best in the country, in my opinion. They may not have access to the best equipment due to limited funds but they certainly know how to find solutions to problems like this and how to get it at a low cost. Every professor seems to be very knowledgeable and quite insightful.

Grades are generally available two weeks after assignments have been posted. This can be frustrating at the beginning of each term as I use this to gauge the grading average and style of the professor. For a large campus I would say things seem well-organized.

I love the food here! It might be because I have simple "taste" or that I'm okay with anything, but I really think the dinning hall deserves an A. Better than high school food of course. And as for the eating places around Downtown, I can't say since I have been out to find out lately, but from what I've heard, there are a ton a really nice places.
Meal plans, depending on which one you have, is very convenient. Just time it right and weigh on whether it's crucial to eat in the dinning hall when you've already used up most of your meals for the week and you'll survive.

I came to Arizona State University because it was the closest school to my area and it offered a great veterinarian degree. The campus is large enough to accommodation all the different schools as well as on campus housing. All of the teachers and staff are very helpful and wiling to provided as much possible to be successful.

I recieved a decent amount right after being accepted, and a few months later a few more doors opened and I was able to recieve more financial aid (helps cut down loans). It's pretty easy to go through terms while gaining more aid here and there. I've heard of some people having disbursement problems however.

I would give a higher grade for most of the dorms, but there are some locations that I've heard nothing but bad things about or are fairly old. Campus Housing is very close to classes, eating, shopping, ect: and ASU is a pretty social place.

Depending on classes/program if you can keep from procrastining, the workload isn't that bad. Some of the professors are really good and some are not engaging/just talk. There are a ton of clubs and organizations, so joining more than 1-3 is very easy and can help with searching for experience, social, and internships. Faculty is good, all willing and wanting to aid you in any help (any) you may need.

It definitely depends on your major. There are some great professors and some not so great professors. Some do not know how to teach but are only there so they can do research. It is best to use ratemyprofessor.com before signing up.

Lots around the ASU campus to eat. Within walking distance too!

It feels like a safe campus. The police are fairly crazy about bikes though. They give out a lot of bike tickets.

As long as you stay on top of things that haven't been completed it isn't too bad. 4 years ago there was a lot more financial aid being offered, but it has significantly declined. The process isn't too grueling, but when things get forgotten about or paperwork gets lost, it can be a challenge.

As a Linguistics major I am very satisfied with my choice of study. It is incredible rewarding to me and that is why I was exploratory when I began and decided this was what I wanted to study. My only concern is that when I graduate, my options will be limited if I decide to follow through and attempt to use my degree. I've noticed most of my fellow linguistics students have aspirations to teach ESL or teach English in a foreign country.

Being a Linguistics major at ASU is great. Overall I am satisfied with my decision. There are a couple difficulties however. The first of which is that there are not a lot of Linguistics electives. Because Linguistics is a concentration within English, our options are very limited to mostly literature classes until reaching upper division courses. The other drawback is that 6 semesters of a foreign language are required. Most students who want to go into Linguistics have some interest in studying a second language, but if you don't want to go far with a specific language I would recommend not declaring Linguistics at ASU.

The process of getting into Linguistics is easy. It should be possible for anyone who has been accepted to the University to get in as long as your current GPA meets the college's requirements. I just went to an English advisor and told them I wanted to declare my major as Linguistics. They processed the request and I had no hoops to jump through.

It is pretty liberal, but there could me more control about smoking right next to buildings

Even though ASU gets a bad party reputation, I don't think the drug scene is that big. I have never seen a fellow student high or engaging on drug activity while on campus. However, drinking is a more common activity for students.

They do not tolerate disrespect in any from, are strict to protect students wellbeing, and guiding them into the right path. If a student is caught with drugs or alcohol on campus they are put on academic probation, and are placed in a class to learn about substance abuse.

It has great variety to select from and have great location.

The diversity on this campus is huge with people you meet from around the world who go to this campus from states next to us all the way from the other side of the world.
College Sophomore 2012-09-17T20:10:08Z
There are many options for off campus housing. The majority of these options are fairly close and very connected to the school. ASU also has free public transportation that helps with getting on and around campus. Distance is not a problem.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
