It Was Ok – When I first contacted ASU to review the finanical aide info it was difficult to get people to call me back. Once they did though it was helpful.

Get What You Deserve – I have not got in any trouble with the university, but I hear they are strict with alcohol on campus as they should be. I believe everyone deserves a 2nd chance and I believe they give lots of people chances if they mess up.

Health & Safety:
The tempe campus and downtown campus are the campuses I attend. Feel very safe with security and police monitoring the walkways. I would just getting locks for bikes and keep an eye on your skateboard cause those are about the only things that aren't safe.

Arizona State University, gets their students. They make sure everyone is comfortable. Providing varieties of place to eat, have fun, and meet people. By far the best university I have ever been too. It is always sunny which makes you want to be active. They also make it easy for people who do not drive to get around with the transportation provided. There is school spirit everywhere which makes me feel welcome and glad to be a Sundevil

Tempe Marketplace – Variety of different restaurants. The scenery is great with the palm trees. It is a place where you can go shopping for your school supplies, clothes, or dine. The movie theatre is located within the marketplace so after a bite to eat it is a great place to take a date. Did I mention Coldstone Ice Cream? This place has it all!

Campus Shuttles – The campus are extremely helpful for students to transport in between the campus. They are completely free, air conditioned, and the seating arrangements are awesome. All you need to know is that you get one the right bus and be there on time.

Computer Labs – The computers on campus are pretty abundant depending on what days and times you are on campus. It is important to remember that ASU has an enormous student population so the labs can be crowded at times.

Many people at ASU consume alcohol, the school is known for its partying ways after all. You wont be pressured into drinking if you do not partake but it is safe to assume that many of your peers will be indulging.

Not Easy to Communicate With. I have had a lot of experience with the financial aid office and the whole process has been very confusing and difficult for me. Scholarships are not disbursed in a timely manner and communication is tough because the office is not easy to get a hold of and often times is unable to answer my questions and help me out.

I Do Not Eat Off Campus Too Often. The off and on-campus food is pretty good. I try to pack my own lunch or simply grab snacks throughout the day rather than buy myself a lunch.

My Experience – I have had the most amazing and rewarding experience. I have formed long lasting relationships. Every staff/faculty always has their door open for every student here. The opportunities to get involved are amazing as well.

There are a lot of dining options that anyone can access on all four campuses. We have dining halls that cater to dietary needs or choices and a meal plan that you can change or add to as time goes by.

The drug scene is not extremely prevalent on our campus. We have minor cases but there is not a whole lot of drug activity.

On the larger campus in Tempe, it can be more difficult to find parking if you do not live there. However, on the majority of our other campuses parking is fine.

Campus is On Right Track – The campus is on the right track towards being a fully functional facility. The Poly Tech Campus will be amazing when it is finished. The new residents halls are nice and welcoming. The new rec. center is almost done, and the new dining halls are complete.

The Process Is Little Complicated – I am an international student and for us there are very limited opportunities to get scholarship. I didn't get much help from the financial aid office at ASU, as most of the scholarships they had required the US citizenship. Although I got the position of Graduate Research Assistant in the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering at ASU for one of the semesters during my Masters program, but I had to pay from my pocket fot the other semesters. But if any student is a citizen here they have lot of scholarships. The only thing they need to do is to apply early in the semester and stay in touch with the college authorotoes and financial aid office during scholarship process.

Greeks Are Not That Vibrant Now – Greek life is average, and no one will treat you differently if you don't join. Most of the non-Greeks are indifferent about Greeks. Greek students stay in run-down chapter houses.

Just Be Yourself – In college, we're adults. No one can tell you what to do or make you do anything. We are all individually responsible for any decision we make (or don't make). If you socialize with people who drink, you'll see a lot of drinking. If you're going to hang out with people who smoke (whatever), it's going to seem like that's what everyone's doing. If you're in the library, it'll seem like everyone and their roommate has a Facebook.. or is actually studying. You've seen those people who party back-to-back and still get good grades or get As on exams. Don't be like that. That's no impressive and not at all respectable.

Definitely Ratemyprofessor – Definitely look up your instructors on Rate My Professor. Some instructors may receive a "bad grade" because they assign too many essays, but someone like me, I'd rather write an essay every week than have to work in a group. Do lots of research about tutoring and get to know librarians. Give yourself plenty of time when navigating through campus and try not to become tempted by vending machines... being an adult, life is still mostly standing in lines and paying for things.

If Phoenix Can Become Sustainable, Any City Can – I'm an Urban Planning major at ASU. Out of all majors offered at the university, Urban Planning is the only one that's genuinely got me trying and desiring to succeed. The workload can become intense, but there are professors and TAs are available to offer help and guidance. Urban planning and sustainability courses are interesting and very easy to apply to my daily life. There are vague concepts, but at the same time, creativity/originality can go a long way. For example, coming up with unique processes to conserve energy or reduce consumption and things like that. As far as internships and job opportunities go, the world is basically working on becoming "green" or more sustainable. A student can possibly intern or volunteer at a recycling center, shadow a city or regional planner, go into local/state or national politics or even law enforcement. Majors can choose hone into a specific area of urban planning such as transportation, recycling, housing, historical restoration/preservation, environmental conservation/preservation, and so much more. What's taught in urban planning and sustainability courses are things everyday people can understand and possibly apply to their lives.
