Great Programs – Arizona State has a big variety of options when it comes to Academics. ASU is one of the top 100 school for academics and its speaks for it's self. I came to Arizona State because of the film program. The program is amazing with a variety of classes that advance your knowledge of film and has already helped me improve in my many areas that I want to pursue like screenwriting. I also know that Arizona State has an excellent business program and all I hear is great things about the W.P. Carey School of Business. The great communication from the professors and the and class options is a big reason why I chose ASU

Even Better Than I Expected – Arizona State is amazing. I made great friends here and I wouldn't change that for the world. The film teachers of the Herberger Institute are very supportive and take an interest in helping the students. The entire campus has a great source of energy with events and activities that makes going to school here exciting. I have to say that I am 100% happy that I chose ASU and to be a Sun devil.

There are plenty of places to park around ASU, many of them close to the campus, but it is costly--whether you are a student with a permit, or simply visiting.

No Car Necessary – ASU's surroundings are serviced by reliable, cost effective public transportation--something that cannot be said for most of the Phoenix Metropolitan area. The community is also very pedestrian and cyclist friendly.

Relaxed Atmosphere, but No Party School – ASU used to be considered a party school and developed somewhat of a bad reputation nationally. In recent years, many programs have been top-rated, and there is a renewed focus on challenging curriculum and stimulating academia.

Plenty to Do – The area of Tempe where ASU is situated is certainly not dull. There are independent book and record stores--a must for a college town, as well as a thriving nightlife.

Arizona Is the Desert State. Around campus it is hot and dry and you rarely see rain or storms. However, during the winter it is the best place to be. There is always AC inside buildings and your education is never hindered by the weather which is nice. Another great thing about ASU is that if your AC breaks in your room they will be out to fix it in the same day or make other accommodations for your safety. Other than the hot sun the weather is really nice.

Poly Is Growing Fast! ASU's Polytechnic Campus is different from any other. Converted from Williams Air Force Base in the Fall of 1996, the Polytechnic Campus is an unique experience for any college student. Students have the option to reside in the old air force barracks and see all the transformations that have been made since its opening. Poly is continually growing and enhancing its buildings and flora. Now, we are building more resident halls to accommodate our growing population and in my opinion Poly has the freshest air out of all four ASU campuses.

Polytechnic Labs Are Always Free. The computer labs and library on ASU's Polytechnic campus are open generally until midnight during the weekdays in the fall and spring semesters, and later closer to finals. There is always a computer or quiet study room as well as a librarian or computing assistant available for students trying to get work done. The wifi and network reliability are guaranteed and each computer should be equipped with any programs you might need for classes such as SolidWorks.

Confusing at First – I did not get much financial aid even though I am in need. The thing is, they expect you to know how to navigate the website off the bat. I submitted everything on time, but somewhere it was telling me to verify some things. I had no idea where that was, so it went unattended to. When i asked financial aid about it, they said a lot of the scholarships were already given out and that they couldn't do anything because I didn't verify some things on time. So I didn't get what I needed because the process was confusing.

Not Much Effort – Getting into my program was not even an issue. As a Psychology major, there wasn't really much applying and application. It was almost like you put a check mark next to your major and that was yours. Switching is easy as well as I have had friends transfer multiple times with no problems!

Very Happy – I was lucky enough to find a major that I would end up sticking with. I know exactly what I want to do and I think that has to do with the great experience with the program. So far, everything has been easy to figure out, I love the courses, and I really know what I'm doing. I'm not lost at all in my path to my career in the future.

Not Sure – I would love to look into getting an internship in the near future, but I'm not sure that ASU has a specific program to find more information about it. I haven't found it easily, but I haven't looked too hard. I think if you really look, it wouldn't be hard, but that is a concern for me because I have so much going on that I wish it were easier!

They Have a Great Selection – If you want to do something, you will find a place to do it. Literally any sport that you can imagine, there is a place for it at ASU. They have all sorts of clubs and organizations for literally anything you can imagine.

Weather all year is perfect. It rains around 40 days out of the entire year. You will always see people in shorts/tank tops at any time of year. Sorry, NYU...

You Have Everything – Well Tempe has a mixture of everything. Literally any kind of food you want, you can have with a ten minute walk/drive. The options are endless.

Love the Professors – I couldn't be more grateful to my professors. Every single time that I've needed a hand from one of them due to extenuating circumstances, they have helped me. They aren't robots, they understand that in life sometimes things come up that are completely out of your control. This has helped me maintain a higher GPA and lower level of general frustration.

Great Program, Great People – The program for Urban and Metropolitan Studies here is top notch. It is preparing me perfectly for life and I couldn't be more satisfied. The work load can be heavy at times, but that's to be expected from any major. I'd recommend this to anybody.

Labs Are Generally Open – I've always been able to find at least one computer open; even during finals weeks.

There is a ton to do. You never get bored. There is always something going on.

The weather is great. There are the 3 months out of the year that it can easily hit 110 degrees, but besides that you can't complain.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
