Greek life is all over ASU. It is so much fun being in a sorority with 200 girls and feeling like you see your sisters everywhere. Greek sororities and fraternities participate in a lot of events together that are so much fun. We do things like raise money for charities and intramurals. Greek life is the best way to become involved in your school and help the community.

Living on Campus Is a Blast – Arizona state is the best time of my life. I have met so many people and had the best experiences i could have imagined. The education is highly valued at ASU and the teachers truely care for their students.

The Hassayampa dining hall was okay to me at first. It was repetitive after awhile and it wasn't open as late as many people wished. I loved the breakfast for the waffles. Most people were okay with the dining hall food quality, I'm just a bit picky when it comes to cafeteria food. Definitely get a meal plan with M&G because The Barrett Honor's College Dining Hall is soooo good.

I have not had any internships yet due to the fact that I am going into my sophomore year. Though, I have had trouble with this department and I am contemplating changing my major. Many students, mainly females tend to be psychology majors not really knowing the difference between psychology or psychiatry, nor what counseling is. The psych department is very strict and having many people being a part of it, it's only expected. So make sure you stay on top of everything.

I absolutely loved my first year at ASU. Being a big university there were plenty of unfamiliar faces to meet. There were a lot of social opportunities as well as academic related opportunities. Freshman year I spent my time getting used to being in college. Most people underestimate ASU as a school which is sad because it is actually a really great school with a lot to offer, it just depends on how its students utilize it. I'm not saying ASU is perfect, it has its flaws. ASU is a blend of all types of people and I enjoyed that everyone was pretty much okay with each other. It had a great atmosphere. And though I focus a lot on the social scene, going to a big university must have involved consideration of your desire of socializing. The programs are nice, my friends are happy with their majors, though I wish there was more to offer for science. I had a bit of problems with my department but other than my own personal dispositions, it's a pretty nice place to be at.

Parking is expensive. There should be more parking spaces. At Hassayampa, there was a parking garage which seemed spacious at the beginning of the year, but I soon realized how small it was to cater to all the students with access to it.

Walking Is Best – new light rail helps out a lot but walking is best for things around campus. Eventually the light rail will go to the airport!

Great College Life – Great restaurants/bars/clubs nearby, Tempe town lake is fun for a little stroll or some rowing, local events such as art festivals and greek festival liven up the weekends.

Masters in Educational Administration and Supervision – Fabulous program, I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to become a school principal!

Not Sure – I am not sure, because i am an undergraduate student, and i guess i will find out this fall. But considering the way they help with the on-campus dorms, i am guessing they put the same effort in helping you get a house off-campus.

The transportation is really cheap around ASU especially to ASU students. You have the option to use the bus, bike, walk, or even rent a car.

There are a variety of options, and many places to explore.

Take a Walk Down Mill – There's a bunch of different restaurants on Mill. Chipotle, Mellow Mushroom< P. F. Changs, etc.

Lots of White Students – There's mainly white people at ASU but there is also a large number of Hispanics, African Americans< and Indians. But mainly a lot of white people.

The Wifi Isn't That Great – School website goes down a lot. But the computer labs aren't usually crowded. You can usually always find a spot in the computer labs.

Great School – The weather is amazing, there is plenty of outside school activities to do, the faculty is friendly, and our school spirit is spot on. One area of concern was the lack of patience of some professors. You get used to doing a lot of things on you're own, but you don't always feel you can reach out for help. I'm thankful for the student tutoring programs.

Phone Staff Not Helpful – I had some difficulty trying to process my financial aid. I had done everything required, but one area was being challenged. I called the phone number for the financial aid office to try to see if anything could be done. They gave me the same generic answers and a lot of apologies. This surprised me because it didn't seem like an uncommon problem. I had to search the problem on my own. I finally was able to sit down with an actual person and it was a piece of cake, like there was never an issue. I'm not sure what the difference was, the person I met with was even new, so I don't think experience was the problem. I gave it a B- because the process went pretty smoothly and relatively fast, but the customer service was poor.

During the Winter, Fall, and Spring months Arizona is perfection. Other modes of transportation are desirable which means saving money on gas is a plus. However, many people know that Arizona during the summer has a reputation of being extremely hot and barely tolerable. The campus handles this by having cold drinks available for purchase, plenty of shade, and air-conditioned buildings. If you're interested in alternative energy, solar power is a rising trend at ASU because of its weather.

The Heat Is Killer – It is so hot here. Classes never get cancelled for the weather; it is not too bad, just a little sweat. It can be scorching hot if your walking from class to class but at least we are allowed to ride our bikes or skateboards. When summer is over then the weather gets pretty nice and everyone just hangs out outside.

I live off campus so don't have Amy experience with the drug safety on campus

It never gets too cold in Arizona (although it does get too hot during the summer depending on who you ask). For me though I hate being cold so the weather is perfect

Everything You Could Ask for. ASU is a fantastic university. I couldn't see myself anywhere else. I get to have the "big school" feel and still get the small liberal arts college experience. It's the best of both worlds.

Heart of the City – ASU is surrounded by three great cities in Arizona; Tempe, Phoenix, and Scottsdale. There is always something to do and tons of people to meet. When you need a break from the books Mill Ave., right across the street from campus, is a great place to grab a bite to eat, watch an artsy flick at the Art Theatre, or go kayaking on Tempe Town Lake. The Cartel Coffee Lab is a great place to hang out and enjoy some good coffee.
College Senior 2012-06-25T05:03:21Z
Too Hot – In Arizona if you can handle the 110+ degree heat, you'll do fine but plan to get to class soaking wet from sweating while walking from one side of campus to the other.

Life Sciences With a Forensic Chemistry Concentration – I attended Phoenix College and got a dual Associate's Degree; one in Evidence Technology and one in Administration of Justice. I had intended to finish my education at ASU, but my husband's elderly mother got sick and we had to relocate to take care of her. During the four years we were in Virginia, I attended Old Dominion University and Hampton University. We came back to Arizona last August and I FINALLY got to attend ASU. The program is awesome; my only regret is not being able to enroll in ASU as soon as I graduated in 2007... the transferring schools and states has set me back in my graduation date since the Virginia institutions did not accept most of my Phoenix College credits and I had to re take a lot of classes I had already taken.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
