Buses and Light Rail Saved My Life – ASU provides a U-Pass or transit card that you pay for at the beginning of the year and use to ride the buses and the light rail which saves a ton of money. there are multiple buss stops and two light rail stops on campus. Both the light rail and buss can take you just about anywhere in the Tempe/Phoenix area. There is no need for a car.

Wp Carey – The process of getting into my CIS major was relatively easy. There was no special requirements such as essays. Once I applied, all the classes i needed to enroll into were on my DARS. A very easy process.

Beautiful, but Pricy! Off campus housing at ASU is some of the most beautiful student housing I've ever seen! But, you will pay for it!

Tempe Is the Place to Be. Tempe Arizona has a phenomenal night life. I am from a small town in Upstate NY and the life in Tempe is polar opposite. The dining in Tempe, on Mill Ave is fantastic and affordable. There is also Scottsdale to the north and Phoenix to the South, so you are surrounded by great cities. There is never a dull moment, but if you need to relax you can visit a park or hike in the mountains and find serenity.

There are a lot of things to do at Arizona State University, such as local restaurants, shopping malls, theaters, attractions, etc. The Tempe campus is also located near Mill Avenue District, which consists of shopping, dining and entertainment, such as clubs and bars.

There are numerous of apartments and houses available off campus from ASU, but they are very expensive. It is difficult for a student to live alone if they are having financial troubles; the number of commuters is large, but for students who wish to live near campus, rent may be expensive and some locations are not very safe.

Dorm Life – Arizona State University is working on designing and constructing new dormitories for its students and most of the dormitories having tutoring services and diners available for their convenience. Also, students are encouraged to participate in dorm activities so they can meet other students and feel more comfortable.

Arizona State University has four campuses in Arizona and they all strive to excel in campus diversity. All student organizations help students in becoming familiar with university resources and improve on their networking.

Couldn't Be Easier – Arizona State University is huge and for good reason to: people can afford to attend because of the very nice scholarships the school provides. I myself am going through college with a full tuition paid ride and I did not have to do very much to receive it either. Unfortunately because of the budget and school funding cuts taking place in higher offices obtaining the scholarship I have is now more difficult. All I had to do in order to receive my scholarship was exceed the AIMS reading, writing and math portions of the exam; keep a 1.5 GPA or higher in my classes; receive an 1100 or higher on the reading and math portions of the SAT; and be accepted to the college, which you are guaranteed to be if you can get the scholarship. Another great thing about ASU is that they take GPA's as unweighted so that schools that are either under funded or underprivileged give equal chances to the attending students versus students who attend well funded schools. ASU is a very understanding school and honestly wants to help those who truly want to succeed in life.

Winter Is Great but the Summer Not So Much – During the summer, the typical heat warnings and drought periods inflict their dealings on many parts of Arizona which doesn't give any mercy to Arizona State University. The heat can be a pleasing incentive, though, to either hold fun pool parties or even better, go on vacation somewhere where the weather is more hospitable. the bright side to the torrid summer, though, is nature shows you truly how beautiful it can be and isn't modest when it blooms with a majestic array of colors all meted from the rainbow. The heat lasts a while and can possibly start early, but the winter is nothing but perfect temperatures that make other states jealous. Always will you find immigrants from other states in Arizona giving themselves a period of respite from their frigid lands, and no one can blame them. Winter is almost something of a dreamland filled with many nostalgic feelings and memories. When winter comes there is almost no excuse for staying indoors when you do not have to because mid seventies is a reason itself to prosper and enjoy the wondrous nature. Only toward the middle of the winter does it become a good choice to wear a light sweater and even then no one can complain.

All Things Necessary – The dorms consist of nothing more than what you need to survive and stay sane. The purpose of the dorms is not to be a leisure house for you to feel free as a bird and have everything you could ever want for entertainment reasons, but rather that is left to the beautiful surrounding environment and campus. The dorms typically come with a mini refrigerator, bed, desk and a closet, beyond this you are left up to bring whatever you need. Honestly, these rooms suite just fine even though they can feel cramped when fitting you and a roommate. They provide a kitchen in the commons area and a gaming place there as well. They are fine for being able to rest and study up, but the fun truly happens outside.

The University of Arizona in it's aspect of diversity, acceptance, challenges and everything else act in much the same way as the United States of America does. Not only is it a powerful school, but a very well-known school just like the United States is when it comes to the World Powers. ASU is very understanding when it comes to economic or racial issues, it is has a huge population of variant races and people from all sorts of backgrounds who only seek to further themselves better in life. Also like the United States, ASU Prides itself in having a diverse community and goes out of their way to make sure those who want to be will be successful in life. The lifestyle at ASU consists of many attributes that the USA partakes in as well. There are so many clubs and groups to spend time in which people share common beliefs and there are even more who will accept you even if you disagree on some topics. Sure some unparalleled beliefs arise, but a fair outcome is decided amongst the people as in any democracy. ASU is a land of opportunity, where the possibilities are actually endless because they offer so many programs and degrees and no matter your background, if you have a will you have a way, just like the Unite States of America.

Safe Enough for Everyone – There have been no reported drug incidents lately.

It's Worth It – While most people hate staying on campus, because of the crazy people that you meet (and there are a few crazies), it's worth it. You meet so many amazing people that the crazy people become avoidable. Also you end of having a lot of stories by the end of semester, because of the things you do or see while living on campus. If you can afford it then do it.
College Junior 2012-05-30T21:38:16Z
Sometimes It Is Hard to Find – Living on campus, I quickly found out that there was always something to do or some place to go, I just had to go out an find it. There are some really great events that most people don't hear about because they aren't advertised as much, but then there are other events that are plastered all over the school and didn't really need to happen. Overall, whether it is during the day or at night, if you want to find something to do you can and there is also a safe way to get around campus with safety escort so walking at night is an avoidable option.

It's There If You're Looking for It. The nightlife at ASU is there, but only if you want to find it. If you're not really into parties, there are easily avoidable. As for the 18+ clubs, they are cool for dancing, but there can be some creepy people. Most of the nightlife, like restaurants and clubs are geared towards 21+, so if you are really looking to have a good time, it will probably be at someone's house or one of the frat hoses. My best advice would be to find friends with the same partying habits as you to ensure that you'll have a good time, because the person who has the most fun also has the most connections.

I Haven't Seen One Hot Guy OR Girl – I believe there is 1 hout guy or girl in a 20 person pool. My school is big too! It's quite hard to spot out someone good looking. No one really cares.
