I Wish My Car Could Compact Into a Suitcase – Having a car on campus is expensive, meters are everywhere along with cops, and spots are only free during certain times. The light rail offers a journeying way to get to campus without driving, but can take a long time to get there. You don't really need a car unless you live far away, or attend two campuses.

Staff Has No Idea – The campus living is average. The facilities are nice but the staff has no idea what goes on inside. There is an abuse of alcohol and drugs. I for one had a roommate that was doing drugs in the dorms and I complained to the front desk several times. He had even been arrested in the dorms a couple times, and it took about two months and 3 arrests to get him removed. Way too lenient.

Health & Safety:
Feeling Safe on Campus – I feel safe on campus during the day but not as much at night. When there are a lot of people at night, such as finals week or after a sports event, but when I am alone I do not feel as safe. Some parts of campus are poorly lit making you vulnerable for something to happen.

Need More Money – There is so much money out there to go to students and people always say its there to take but it is near impossible to find. you have to go on a hunt just to find a scholarship that fits you. The problem is meeting the criteria for the aid, there isn't always something for everyone.

Clean, Accessible and Helpful – The facilities at Arizona State are very nice. The student rec center is always very clean and accessible. The staff working is very friendly and helpful when you need assistance. The Memorial Union is also clean and a nice a place to go to sit and relax. It is a cool getaway on campus to do homework or get something to eat.

Freshman Mistakes – Freshman dorms are filled with drinking and smoking. Even when I lived in the honors dorms, fire alarms were going off constantly for kids smoking pot in the stair wells. Although Arizona State claims itself as a dry campus and tries to place high security in the front of dorms, kids are still able to sneak in alcohol and it is not hard to find a dorm party with weed and alcohol.

I Live at Home – Because of my financial situation, I chose to stay at home and commute this semester.

Good Off-Campus Options – While the restaurants are a bit expensive for me, I like to eat off campus at buffets (lots of vegetarian/pescetarian options there!) and sandwich shops. Sushi and other places are very connected with the university, providing discounts, specials, and more reasonable prices than other similar places.
Very trendy spots with special courses and unique dishes. The service is also great.
Although, these options can quickly become routine and I find myself traveling further for something new.

Engineering Is Very Personal and Focused – At the Polytechnic campus, for those who are in the Engineering program, students get to construct, program, design and test projects in their classrooms. These are self-driven projects and the Professors do an amazing job helping to assist the students, as they are working as well.
The workload is fair, and the facilities provide all the tools needed to succeed- physical tools or educational.
My professors and advisors also constantly send me information about job opportunities and internships with big companies like Intel, IBM, Honeywell and other corporations.

ASU has lots of optionsbut they can be difficult to figure out if you're not used yo using busses. Free transit is good, it goes around campus there's a bus about every 15 mins.

Great Help Depending on the Campus – I attend a smaller satellite campus of ASU which is lesser recognized but in my opinion, very valuable! The Polytechnic campus of ASU is a small reserved campus which has classes of only 30 students, and lectures of 80. I think the Polytechnic campus has a propelling learning environment. Professors know students by name and recognize them around campus and are always willing to talk. The education is very hands-on, helping to teach all of the students in the most effective manner. A+
The Tempe, or Main campus, of ASU is much larger and has significantly more students than teachers. This means the learning is less personal and there isn't as much of a hands-on experience in the classrooms. A-

Guys & Girls:
Variety Everywhere – With tens of thousands of people attending the many capuses of ASU, the possibilities for guys and girls are so diverse. There are indie, hipsters, preppy, thug, and anything else imaginable. With all these options, you can't choose one.

Night Life Is a Must. The environmment of Tempe is very diverse with high acadeic standards and also a huge party school ranked with the highest. Mill Avenue is the hangout are dring the day and night that exudes everything that Arizona is known for; fun, exciting, and the place to be. With extremely hot weather in the summer, it is always a more positive environment.

Clubs, off-campus parties, dances, concerts, outdoor venues... you will never be disappointed. The best clubs are in Scottsdale, AZ and there are always parties over the weekend or throw backs where you can find something to do. I would always go to the sports games and then hit up a party or the bars or the night clubs
College Senior 2012-05-22T05:35:24Z
Plenty of Options – You will find a load of restaurants in the area to fit your needs and Tempe/Phoenix/Mesa area gives you plenty of variety. The only reason I gave a B+ is because the cooler restaurants are found a few miles off campus so a car is beneficial. And if you have time to make it to the malls, you will be smiling with all the great food in the area.
College Senior 2012-05-22T05:33:40Z
Be Warned – Like every university, ASU is non other that they enforce a strict underage drinking policy and the Tempe and ASU police will break up anything that's out of control. If you do this in the dorms and do it multiple times while getting caught, you could be in jeopardy of being put on probation or even losing housing on-campus. Just be smart and if you want to drink then do not advertise the party in the dorms.

Parking at ASU is horrendous! Invest money in a UPASS if you are commuting to other of the three campuses (besides your main campus) to save you trouble or take the free intercampus shuttles. If you have a class at 10am in Tempe, you need to be on campus by 9:30 to give you 20 minutes to find a parking spot and pay for an overpriced parking spot and then walk to class. I wish they had a more affordable option. I find myself riding the buses and public transportation a lot.

Best School Ever! I love ASU! its has changed the way I think an learn. I will be very well prepared to enter my career field after graduation!

The sports at Arizona State Universtity are exciting! there is always a game to watch. My favorites are football and baseball. Sometimes it seems as if the whole school is at the game! ASU has great spirit!

Good but Needs Improvement – The facilities at Arizona State University are good. The Student Recreation Complex has different gyms for basketball, volleyball, badmitton, racquetball, weightlifting, martial arts, a swimming pool, and similar to what the YMCA offers in their complexes. The student union--commonly called Memorial Union--has been newly renovated a few years ago after a kitchen fire burned the majority of the second and third floors of the building. It continues to be a popular hangout of many students and faculty along with the constant shortage of finding a decent place to sit. The only issues with Arizona State University is that it is overcrowded so finding a seat in the Memorial Union is very difficult, nearly impossible. The billiards and bowling area in the basement of the Memorial Union needs improvements to look new. The Student Recreation Complex also needs improvements because most of the equipment is old and needs to be replaced. Overall, Arizona State University's facilities are great areas on campus but needs the most improvements.

Strict but Not Strict Enough – The police force is strict but does not deliver severe punishments like expulsion or suspension. The only thing they accomplish is having students serve court-times and removal from the dorms.

Convenient Location Near Campus – The apartments in Tempe are in convenient locations near Arizona State University's Tempe campus. Some are expensive but some are also fairly priced. In addition, it is not difficult to find an apartment near ASU.
College Junior 2012-05-18T16:32:53Z
They Are Quite Pricy – Most of the nearby housing is more expensive than on campus. However, if you are willing to make a commute of 1-2 miles you can find some pretty good deals.

It Just Like Most Places – There is a good variety of cultures and preferences represented in the Off-Campus Dining, however it is a little pricy.
College Junior 2012-05-18T16:03:32Z
Sports Are Decent – Football games are fun but students have to pay for tickets which would be ok if it didn't require four, often more, hours to get into the game. You also have to pay for Mens Basketball tickets. All other sports are free though which is nice, however they do not really have the same energy.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
