A Wide Breadth of Educational Opportunities – ASU has an incredible array of schools and programs for students to choose. In addition, the quality of education is very high.

OUCH: THAT's HOT!!! The weather at ASU falls on the hot side. The good news is there is little humidity making the higher temperatures more bareable.

Safe Enough for Everyone – There have been no reported drug incidents lately.

It's Worth It – While most people hate staying on campus, because of the crazy people that you meet (and there are a few crazies), it's worth it. You meet so many amazing people that the crazy people become avoidable. Also you end of having a lot of stories by the end of semester, because of the things you do or see while living on campus. If you can afford it then do it.

Sometimes It Is Hard to Find – Living on campus, I quickly found out that there was always something to do or some place to go, I just had to go out an find it. There are some really great events that most people don't hear about because they aren't advertised as much, but then there are other events that are plastered all over the school and didn't really need to happen. Overall, whether it is during the day or at night, if you want to find something to do you can and there is also a safe way to get around campus with safety escort so walking at night is an avoidable option.

It's There If You're Looking for It. The nightlife at ASU is there, but only if you want to find it. If you're not really into parties, there are easily avoidable. As for the 18+ clubs, they are cool for dancing, but there can be some creepy people. Most of the nightlife, like restaurants and clubs are geared towards 21+, so if you are really looking to have a good time, it will probably be at someone's house or one of the frat hoses. My best advice would be to find friends with the same partying habits as you to ensure that you'll have a good time, because the person who has the most fun also has the most connections.

There are a decent amount of races and religious backgrounds. I see lots of white and Indian people though.

Guys & Girls:
I Haven't Seen One Hot Guy OR Girl – I believe there is 1 hout guy or girl in a 20 person pool. My school is big too! It's quite hard to spot out someone good looking. No one really cares.

Worst Experience Ever – As of right now, I am denied of my dependency review even though I got it approved my first year. I now have no money for school and I have to redo the whole dependency review process and it still isn't a guarantee I would get it approved. None of the advisers have been helpful. I feel so stressed every time I am at the financial aid office.

Good Variety – The plaza right across the street (Rural Rd) from ASU has a variety of quick fixes. There's Sushi 101 which is really good if you're into sushi. Then the bagel place next door which is always packed in the mornings! However if you go down about half a mile down the street there are a ton of other little places that are all pretty good and very close to the school.

Guys & Girls:
Looks Vs Personality – There are some very good looking people here. And the fact that nearly all year people are in summer cloths is real nice. It wouldn't be a bad thing to ditch the attitude, you never know who you dissing.
College Junior 2012-05-25T23:24:13Z
A Good Solid B – There are some real nice people at ASU but you have to dig to find them. Most people here are hard to bet to know. There are many flakes, so it's hard to know if someone is a nice person or just manipulating you. The education is good, I have learned a lot, but many professors are bias and also have big egos to deal with. The school preaches collaboration, and I have grown to think it's because no body here wants to collaborate. I have seen group projects go bad because everyone in the group thought it should all be the way they want it, no compromise. There are winners here, just got to sort though and find them, be with them, and do what they do.

Important but Not the Main Thing! Students at ASU are there to learn and advance their post-graduation earning power. Focusing solely on petty issues such as "datability" is just a distraction from one's degree plans! You'll find most students haven't the time for romantic relationships.

The Greek-Lifers Were Kicked Off Campus. This past year, the greeks took the phrase "party hardy" much too far. In the beginning of the year there was reported underage drinking for most frats and sororities that resulted in several people being taken to the hospital, bu those are the party groups. Other greek life, like the honor and major Greeks are pretty prestigious. I am not favorable to the stereotypical greek life, but I do plan on joining an honor group if I can. ASU cracked down on all the groups living on campus, so greek life is completely centered on campus though it is still a prominent figure at ASU.

Hey Look, Blackboard Is Down Again. The internet is usually pretty slow and isn't very reliable. This past year the ASU website was hacked and both students and teachers could not use blackboard for over a week. When the wifi is bad, the computing commons is very helpful. I love that place because there are almost always computers open and the wifi isn't too slow. There are also both macs and PCs there.

I Wish My Car Could Compact Into a Suitcase – Having a car on campus is expensive, meters are everywhere along with cops, and spots are only free during certain times. The light rail offers a journeying way to get to campus without driving, but can take a long time to get there. You don't really need a car unless you live far away, or attend two campuses.
College Junior 2012-05-23T17:32:52Z
Staff Has No Idea – The campus living is average. The facilities are nice but the staff has no idea what goes on inside. There is an abuse of alcohol and drugs. I for one had a roommate that was doing drugs in the dorms and I complained to the front desk several times. He had even been arrested in the dorms a couple times, and it took about two months and 3 arrests to get him removed. Way too lenient.

Health & Safety:
Feeling Safe on Campus – I feel safe on campus during the day but not as much at night. When there are a lot of people at night, such as finals week or after a sports event, but when I am alone I do not feel as safe. Some parts of campus are poorly lit making you vulnerable for something to happen.
College Junior 2012-05-23T17:22:44Z
Need More Money – There is so much money out there to go to students and people always say its there to take but it is near impossible to find. you have to go on a hunt just to find a scholarship that fits you. The problem is meeting the criteria for the aid, there isn't always something for everyone.

Clean, Accessible and Helpful – The facilities at Arizona State are very nice. The student rec center is always very clean and accessible. The staff working is very friendly and helpful when you need assistance. The Memorial Union is also clean and a nice a place to go to sit and relax. It is a cool getaway on campus to do homework or get something to eat.

Freshman Mistakes – Freshman dorms are filled with drinking and smoking. Even when I lived in the honors dorms, fire alarms were going off constantly for kids smoking pot in the stair wells. Although Arizona State claims itself as a dry campus and tries to place high security in the front of dorms, kids are still able to sneak in alcohol and it is not hard to find a dorm party with weed and alcohol.

Good Off-Campus Options – While the restaurants are a bit expensive for me, I like to eat off campus at buffets (lots of vegetarian/pescetarian options there!) and sandwich shops. Sushi and other places are very connected with the university, providing discounts, specials, and more reasonable prices than other similar places.
Very trendy spots with special courses and unique dishes. The service is also great.
Although, these options can quickly become routine and I find myself traveling further for something new.

Engineering Is Very Personal and Focused – At the Polytechnic campus, for those who are in the Engineering program, students get to construct, program, design and test projects in their classrooms. These are self-driven projects and the Professors do an amazing job helping to assist the students, as they are working as well.
The workload is fair, and the facilities provide all the tools needed to succeed- physical tools or educational.
My professors and advisors also constantly send me information about job opportunities and internships with big companies like Intel, IBM, Honeywell and other corporations.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
