Just Don't Bring a Car – Don't bring a car unless it's necessary. If you are out of state bring it, the city is really spread out so getting anywhere is impossible. If you are in-state, find a way to keep your car somewhere not on campus because it'll cost you an arm and a leg. Not mention even if you pay the price for parking, you are not garenteed a spot and there are not even spots. Overall, parking sucks!

You'll see parties get busted by police and many students get MIC's but it's not a huge deal. I haven't heard of anyone getting in trouble for anything here. But it depends on which school your major falls under, some deans are more strict than others

There is very little greek life but if you want to get involved in it there are plenty of great opportunities. It is not necessary to meet friends at all.

When the weather here is nice, it is very nice. You can't beat the nice wether here anywhere. The price of this amazing weather is the unbearable heat that comes with summer. You can walk to your class in a heat that you can't imagine. The sweat of your body evaporates before you can notice it, as soon as you step in a building is when the moister spreads all over you wetting your cloths.

Common Heart Ship – There are computer commons at Arizona State University. It is there for the convince of the enrolled student. They are not updated with the best and latest software, and they usually take several minutes to connect to the schools network. The rule is "save save save", because with out a moments notice, the screen goes blank and you lose any work that is not saved. This happened to me once, but lucky it wasn't hours of work, only about a half hour. It would be really nice if the expensive software I need to compete assigned projects were installed on the schools computer or network somehow, but it is nice that there are computers that I can use.

My School Rocks – ASU has been very good for me. I have had alot of support from the DRS, Professors, and even student groups. Even though it has been a while since attending, I am excited to return and get back in the swing of things.

Parking Tight – There are quite a few parking issues at ASU. The powers that be are pretty good about catching people who park in the wrong area. I don't have that probem because I never park in a restricted area. I do have to walk farther than most, though.

Athletics at ASU are pretty big, especially for Football. The school puts alot of money into the program and it shows. It helps that the weather is so nice here during football season.

Heat but Not Distracting – I live in Arizona so you already know that it is going to be extremely hot. The hot months are May and August. But not to worry every building is willing to freeze every part of your body. So bring a light jacket for your extended amounts of time in class. Especially if your wearing shorts.

Guys & Girls:
Frat Boys – I feel like if your not in a fraternity/sorority you have a difficult time making friends. A lot of the guys are straight frat boys, but some of them are pretty down to earth too. A lot of the girls come off as snobby, but once you get to know them they are really nice.

Wide Variety – There is a wide variety of races on campus, which is nice, because it gives you a feel for all different kinds of cultures.

Labs Are Very Easy to Use – There are many computer labs around campus and are rarely ever full, because most students have their own computers. But if you are looking to use a computer lab there will definitely be computers at your disposal.

Amazing School Spirit – Arizona state is awesome at coordinating school colors and spirit at games. It always gets out what to wear so that we out shine all other schools! I love it!

You Will Get FAT!! I'm vegetarian and the options are horrible, unless I want pita jungle or a salad every time I am on campus. They have Taco Bell, Pizza, etc. It's not very health conscious, plus I am diabetic. It doesn't suit me.
College Junior 2012-04-09T01:39:50Z
Not Enough for Everyone – Arizona State University is very limited on the amount of computers they have to offer students. It's already an expensive school, especially for out of state students, so buying a computer isn't always an option at first, but I guess they don't think that through.

Foreign Students Galore! There is an incredible amount of diversity brought to the campus. It provides great opportunities to learn of others' culture.

Housing Is There – Housing is interesting. You can find housing, but you can't always count on having awesome neighbors unless you are wiling to pay a premium.

Health & Safety:
Security=Campus Jobs – It seems like the staff the security teams with federal work-study students. Does not instill confidence.

Underage Drinking Is Illegal? I personally do not drink. But you would think by all of the freshmen talking about drinking that the legal drinking age was 18. Drugs are not visible, but surely exist. Most of the problems do not affect campus goings on.

Run of the Mill – The options are that of a college campus: Taco Bell Express, Subway, Jamba Juice, blah blah blah. The only place worth note is a venture between the food service company employed and the school of sustainability. There, locally sourced organic foods are served, all with special diets and religious considerations taken into account.

Supply Chain Management Excellence – The program is a great way to gain exposure to all of the elements within supply chain management. More importantly, there is an emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving, not just memorization and regurgitation. The professors are world class, and the material is relevant to current events.

Latino? This Is the Place for You. If you are Latino or considered a "minority", or even an illegal alien you'll be provided with all the financial aid you want. If you are a working 20-something Caucasian, you won't be getting any financial aid from this school.

Parts of campus are brand new and up to date, other parts are old and the age shows. Rec center leaves much to be desired.

Excellent Online Programs – ASU Online offers a diverse and rigorous selection of online programs. I am completing my BA in History and have had an excellent selection of courses to choose from, the courses have been rigorous, the faculty responsive, and the support staff (i.e. advisors, etc) have been very helpful. I would encourage others to check out ASU online if you need flexibility in scheduling for school!

There are posters around the dorms and apartments saying that ASU is a dry campus and if caught with alcohol on campus we will get fined, however more than once have I seen people sneak in alcohol into their rooms. When someone suspects there is someone drinking in the dorms and the police is called, if those people do not open the door, the police will not do anything, they just say they cannot do anything. So where is the discipline here?
Sorry, there are no reviews.
