A Lot of Connections – As a journalism student, I am thrilled to live in one of the top ten media markets in the U.S. There are many local stations that offer internships and part-time jobs to students. Also, there are many museums, concerts, art shows, and sporting events to attend on the weekends.

Struggling With Biochemistry – To start off I am an average student who fears entering the honors program. When I realized I had enrolled for Biochemistry and discovered that it was one of the more difficult major I had a second thought about going the easy way and changing my major. However after asking questions I discovered that there was a chance for this average student to survive the rigorous curriculum of Biochemistry. Arizona State University has subject labs where students like myself can access any time for extra help, along with teachers that schedule office hours to help their students succede.

As a new students I may not have much experience, however diversity stands out when I think of the curriculum at Arizona State University. What I mean by 'diversity' is the chance for students to take classes outside the ones designated for their major. As a Biochemistry major I was a little disappointed thinking that I would not be able to take an orchestra class when I had the qualifications as an intermediate player. Though some classes are for majors-only I have been able to join a class for non-majors where I will be placed in quartets which meet once a week and expand my performance ability.

This Place Is Huge – Its not until that first day and that first step of independence on the campus of Arizona State University to understand the establishment in Tempe. ASU is alone its own city so much that there is no need to step outside its boundaries. The campus is filled with the vibe of many individuals that there is a community for any individual. In fact the campus is so large there are shuttles and buses with free access to all students if a class is on the opposite side of campus that runs regularly.

Fan Support – the fan support at ASU athletic games is pretty strong, but very weak when it comes to supporting girls sports. It is unfortunate, but hopefully will improve in the next upcoming year.

I love my major. It is so interesting a=yet challenging at the same time that it always keeps me intrigued. I still have lots to learn and I look forward to it all.

I have yet to move into any off campus house, but of the friends that I do have that are owners or renters, they feel very comfortable and safe. I feel safe as well whenever I travel off campus.

ASU is a great school. Being able to meet students from all over the world is pretty cool. Teachers are great, and the campus is great. If you need help there is always help out there you just got to look.

They could lower the payment just a little bit for the off campus students that have to pay for their meal

Devils After Dark – The nightlife at ASU is definitely hoping. Specifically Devils After Dark and other night time events make meeting people and blowing off some stress easy and enjoyable.

Arizona State is extremely diverse. There are large groups with many different cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs.

The wifi on campus is definitely a very nice addition. The Available computers are very convenient and easy to use.

They really help you and answer all of your questions. Even let me submit a letter to repetition for more student aid without getting mad at me...got a nice respectful response back even though I didn't get more money.

I think mainly the climate... yes it is hot in the summer but during the school year it's beautiful out here and the whole campus is filled with trees & stuff...like a big arboretum. It's got a great desert touch to it as well.. the adobe colored brick buildings complement the surroundings. There's alot to do on campus and around Tempe...very fun...the ultimate college town..why else would we have the highest enrollment in the country? ...And compared to other universities, quite the bargain financially. Plus plenty of dating opportunities. Nothing bad about it at all really, basically the best for the full college experience.

Largely Behind the Scenes – There is some showing of Greek pride on campus in terms of frats/sororities but they do not have much of an external influence on the rest of the university beyond the actual members in the groups themselves.

The campus seems very relaxed about their rules except parking is the exception
Recent Alumnus 2011-08-09T21:52:32Z
The students have a very strong support for their sports teams including girl softball

The gyms are nice but sometimes it gets big crowded.
I think one solution is to have more gyms overall on each campus

By Car, Foot, Bus Light-Rail – The transportation ant ASU is great, you can get to any campus from another one real easy. You are near the freeway and the buses are always running.

Health & Safety:
Safe and Friendly – There are 4 campus to ASU in which you can ride the light-rail to get to and all of them are safe, campus police are no to far away if they are needed and will response quickly. However, you have to remember that you are in the desert and keep water with you at all times, because you will walk to class on a 115 degree day.

Drinking as an Extracirricular – Drinking is deffinately a huge part of the social scene, lots of house parties and Mill Avenue with lots of bars just a few steps away from campus. ASU is "strict" about enforcing it, so either don't bring stuff on campus, or don't get caught doing so. Drugs are whatever, they aren't prevelent, but if you wanted some, you could probably find some with about two phone calls. And although drinking is popular, I've never felt pressure to do anything I didn't want to do.

Guys & Girls:
This school has over 50,000 students, so there is a wide range of people, but I can say with so many students, whatever you're looking for, you will probably be able to find it

Off campus living near asu greatly varies, not only from choices(student apartment communities(non-university affiliated dorm lifestyle), apartments or houses), but also in cost, saftey, living conditions, ect. You're best bet is to just research the area...

I've grown up in Arizona; love the continous sunshine and ability to go outdoors everyday without wondering if there will be rain, a weather storm, or snow.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
