Easy to Communicate With. The Art and Design Adviors are great in keeping in contact you with a student not only to help them figure out a problem with their classes but also with something regarding the campus itself. They get a hold of you wether it be by email or a phone call to make sure that you are aware of what is going on with your classes and or other questions that you may have.

Sub Par – The school dining was horrible. I cooked primarily for myself. But ASU does house numerous restuarant on and around campus that are amazing and more than reasonable for students. Delicious!

While Arizona State University is an incredibly large school and no doubt some majors are what could be considered as a "joke" of a study area, the sciences in Arizona do not fall short. True many classes are overly large, such as a entrance level required biology class maintaining almost 500 students, but while this number may seem obsurd the material continues to be packed with more information than even the birghtest of student can retain. The teachers make sure to cover every level and in attempts to help every student. Encouragment of group and more one on one interactions between the teachers and students are always recommended and such teachers work hard to prepare you and encourage you to strive above the hundreds of others. The program retains its ability to challenge us while still being one of the largest schools in North America.

Solid Education – Large college with various programs that are strong

Romans Lend Me Your Ear – Personally because I live on the Polytechnic campus there are only two fraternities and only one sorority. But on the Tempe Campus Greeks are pretty important. They throw huge parties. But they're not all about partying; there are a decent amount of service frats and sororities so they do give back.

Too School – I came to ASU for the W.P. Carey school of business which is ranked pretty high up there. The Polytechnic Campus is great for school! The professors are usually cool and really helpful, always available for office hours and extra help. The class sizes are small so you can really get to know your fellow students but more importantly your teachers. Regular class sizes are about 35 students while the biggest is 80 students. There are a lot of study places; the library (librarians can amazingly helpful), outside on the mall, and my personal favorite spot would be the secret garden on the Tempe Campus. Wait what secret garden?!?

Depends on the Campus – ASU has 4 campuses; Tempe, West, Downtown, and Polytechnic. I live on the Polytechnic campus, which is in between somewhere and nowhere. By that I mean there's not much to do off campus especially if you have no money. Two miles away there is the San Tan Mall which is fun because there are a lot of shops; B&N,and Harkins to name a few. But the upside is that we have intercampus shuttles that are free and will go to the Tempe Campus which is always fun. There's Mill Avenue which has something new and fun to offer everyone. Also in Tempe there are a lot of cultural events to attend and Tempe Town Lake where you can fish and rent pedal boats. If you catch the shuttle to the downtown campus you're instantly in the big city with skyscrapers towering over you. There's always something fun to do, just walking around with friends is a great experience.

Engineering Help – I'm in the engineering school at Arizona State and it is challenging in a good way. I have been fortunate enough to have great professors in my field and in general ed. classes. ASU has a lot of help on campus dealing with all aspects of the college life. If you want help you can surely find it if you really want it.

In my opinion, Arizona State University has one of the most diverse student bodies in relation to foreign students - we have students from every continent except Antarctica! In addition, the LGBTQ student club is particularly strong on this campus. The only complaint that I have is that there are so many ethnic groups and so many loud religious groups that it can be pretty distracting going from class to class because there is always a club or religious group trying to get my attention. In addition, I found the content in many of my classes to be overly attentive to LGBTQ issues and quite disturbing to Christian students because of their assault on Christians and open mockery of them and their beliefs. The only way ASU can improve in this issue is to work on making their classes inoffensive for EVERYONE, including Christian students. It's not the students' fault that they happen to belong to the religion that was once dominant in America; they don't need to be chastised for it.

Although Arizona State University was not my first choice as a college, I am very glad I ended up attending. The faculty who teach the Japanese classes in particular are hard-working, unassuming, wonderful people who both take their job seriously and take great pains to make the coursework fun and worthwhile for the students. They promote a friendly atmosphere, and they are always available for help after class. One of them even has given me personal advice when I have had problems dealing with my foreign exchange student friends who I didn't understand. Nationally recognized faculty plus unbeatable tuition rates made this an easy choice for me, and I plan on taking advantage of their excellent foreign exchange program in Japan in my third year.

Walking Is the Bomb – I think walking is the best option. You can ride a bike or longboard but I swear you willend up running into someone. Best way to ignore them is to walk. It is better to take the Bus because it is free for students. Worst thing to do is park because you will waste money in the parking meters.

Living the Life Alone – I think it would be hard to live on your own. You might end up with roomates you do not like. Condos and apartments can get pretty expensive. Also, you do not know how your other person lives. It is hard to find a good apartment. There is no parking at ASU which is bad you have to use a parking meter.

Pre-Med and Global Health – I am currently going to be a sophomore in college at ASU. I love my major. I get to travel with study abroad. I took a required class with other people in my major, Global Health, and I made a lot of friends. Do not be afraid to email your professor it is the best thing to do or get to know them.

Fantastic Blue Skies – Arizona is always sunny and the skies are always blue! The warm, dry weather means you almost never need an umbrella and can walk to class in comfort. I can't imagine having to worry about rain or snow and I'm so happy to be attending a school with such great weather. It really helps knowing that you can plan your day without worrying about weather.

Guys & Girls:
At Arizona State University there is a reputation for the student body to be very attractive. For the most part, this is true. Since there are so many students at ASU there are plenty of people to socialize with. Some people prefer bars or parties but others would rather just hang out with their friends. There is a niche for everyone. There are over 600 clubs and organizations available for students to join which cater to a huge variety of interests.

Applying to Arizona State University was a simple process and relatively low stress in comparison to the application process of other universities. However, the courses at ASU are challenging and professors expect the best from their students so don't be fooled by the high acceptance rate. I am a transfer student and I know other transfer students who agree that the professors at ASU tend to assign a lot of homework. Also, ASU is a fantastic institution in terms of options for research opportunities. This was a big selling point for me in the decision to come to ASU, especially as a psychology major.

Great Variety – Around Arizona State University is a street called "Mill Ave." This is where you can find many eating places from burgers to sushi. It's great to get the variety so that everyone can eat something they like.

Good but Could Be Better – The financial aid personnel are pretty good, but once asked the more difficult questions, they are hesitant to respond.

Everything Is Popular – ASU is known for being a party school and its names precedes it. There are all types of drugs that people do out there. Mostly drinking though.

The Campus Is Great – The main campus is located in Tempe, AZ so for most of the year the weather is awesome. The campus is filled with trees and water features which makes it easy to find a nice place to study or hang out.

Lots to Choose from – Since Arizona State University is a large school, they offer classes in just about any topic you can think of
College Senior 2011-06-13T07:50:41Z
Could Be Better – There is always a fraternity party going on and non-greek girls are allowed into them for the most part. Non-greek guys usually don't get along with greek guys because they aren't allowed in the parties. I think greek life could be much bigger than it is, which is unfortunate. If you are involved in greek like, it's the best time of your life so I definitely recommend it. There are only three frat houses left of the row because ASU keeps tearing them all down. But fraternities usually try to get their guys to all live at the same apartment complex so that it's easier to have parties. Sororities have their own "dorm-like" housing called Adelphi. It is comprised of 12 clusters for the 12 sororities and approximately 30 girls from each house can live in their cluster. Even though President Crow is trying to kill greek life and is making it difficult for us to do fun things, I love it!

Health & Safety:
Somewhat Safe – ASU and Tempe Police are visible around campus which makes me feel a little bit safe. However, Tempe is not the nicest area and just outside of campus there are some not so safe areas. I make sure to follow precautions like the buddy system and not going out late at night in order to prevent anything bad from happening.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
