Most minorities can be seen walking through campus but the most dominant ethnicity is Caucasion, very few, Mexicans or African-Americans. Although it is refreshing to see so many exchange students on campus.

The main capmus is surrounded by off-campus housing, some have fair pricing thanks to rent control. ASU will also help you in any off-campus related matter.

Excellent Social Scene – Tempe is an excellent college town right in the heart of Arizona. The downtown area where the college is located is always offering something to do (concerts are a big plus!)

ASU is a huge university and therefor has a huge and diverse community. Its easy to meet people in classes and most people are very nice. Most of the teachers that i have had have been very good, informative, and energetic about teaching, learning and interacting with us (students). An education is what you make of it, you can't expect it all to come your way if you don't make any effort. That being said, there are people who are at ASU who you can tell are there only for the social aspect of ASU which is a shame because its pretty darn expensive to go to school. But no one forces you to be with anyone and there are such a wide long variety of classes, its hard not to find things that interest you.

Public Transport – ASU has a great system around the Tempe campus. They have buses that travel for free to and from their different campuses. They have free buses that run around to different parts of that one campus, they have free buses that take you out to different neighborhoods around campus and then the public buses run all along campus so its possible to get anywhere. We also have the light rail that is extremely helpful for getting to and from the airport and its pretty close to campus and very accessible and cheap. Most of the buses around are free, only the light rail and the public transport that runs all over Phoenix charges, and they have student rates for that as well.

$2 an Hour? Forget, I'm Taking My Bike! ASU doesn't have enough available parking spaces at the Tempe campus. And if you are lucky enough to get a spot, you have a huge fee to pay. You can try your luck at getting a metered spot but you can only pay for an hour at a time and that costs 2 dollars! Me, I like to just bike to school. Sure its hot and you get sweaty during the first few months of school, but it makes it really easy to get around on campus and off campus. Some of my friends even drive to school with a bike, park somewhere that isn't far away where its free and then hope on their bike the rest of the way so they don;t have to walk for 35 min to class. Also, ASU oversells some parking spaces because they know that not all people have class at the same time on the same days which is a problem because you can have payed for a spot and actually not have one some times.

There Are Options People! Ok, so unless you live too far from campus, you won't really need a car. Parking permits at school can be a bit costly, but if you know you will be driving, get one. Sure, you may be paying $300+ but if you don't, you'll be paying $8 a day and you'll need to arrive with plenty of time since they sometimes get full.
As I said though, there are options. If you live close, a bike will do. There are plenty of things close to campus and there is public transportation that can take you around. We have the buses and light-rail and students can get an unlimited two semester pass for only $80.

You Don't HAVE to Go Greek – Greek life is great, because you get to meet a lot of new people with common goals in mind... Sure those goals vary quite a bit though... Regardless, don't feel that you need to join one to fit in, there are also a lot of clubs and other activities you can join... or not.

There is always something to do on Mill Ave, right next to ASU. Whether you are looking for a place to shake that booty, have the opportunity to use a designated driver, or just have a tasty snack, there is sure to be something there. Although a lot of places are 21 and up, one thing is for sure, there is always something walking distance from campus going on.

I always get little to no financial aid. They just raised tuition at school yet again. Tuition this year went up to 10700.

ASU has a strong no alcohol on campus policy; it has its own police department. There isn't a dress code.

Guys & Girls:
Guys Vs Girls – Both guys and girls can be intimidating at a school as big as Arizona State but I have noticed that the majority of people are actually quite nice and perfectly friendly. Of course there are exceptions but that is true of all schools.

Dining Is a Joy – Our memorial union has a wide variety of places to eat and it is located right at the center of the campus. There are places like burger king and papa johns as well as Arizona States' own buffet restaurant.

Professors Who Are Enthusiastic – Professors at ASU are all willing and enthused to help their students succeed. They are knowledgeable in their subjects and even though some professors are there for research purposes they are still involved in the school and truly care for their students.

Majority of the year the weather is mild and great temperatures, making it nice to be outside. Only in the end of the spring semester to the beginning of the fall semesters is the temp too hot to be super active outside. It doesn't get very cold other times of the year.
College Senior 2011-07-28T00:31:37Z
there are quite a few places available around the Tempe campus to eat at with a relatively good variety.

The Computer labs are open all day and well into the night for the students to use. The computers them selves are really good and quick, however the ones in the library tend to take a while to start up. the wireless access on the tempe, west, and polytechnic campuses are great and fast if you use your own computer.

Expensive but Nice! Alot of the off campus apartments are really close to the school. Of course, this leads to HUGE price inflation!

Life on Campus – I stayed at Taylor Place and the dorm was okay. Rooms are a manageable size. The problem I had was the cleaning of the Hallways they could be dirty for a week or two which made the dorm seem bad. The atmosphere there was good most of the time it did not seem like any problems where i was at.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
