Make It or Break It – I was a Mathematics Major at ASU and it seems that most of the professors are interested in research and publications, but not very concerned with the students. There was a rare occassion when a teacher would truly show interest, but quick answers and very little guidance is all you can expect. As a math major you expect a heavy workload and decent curriculum. The classrooms are old and slowly being updated. If you are lucky enough to get into the right circles you will find some job opportunities.

New American Scholars – I am a New American Scholar because of my High School grades, but ASU has a fantastic scholarship search engine that is really easy to use.

Policiy Enforcement – ASU has a policy where if you are caught with it within the dorms you can be expelled or given one more chance. I think it is a fairly reasonable policy that separates the drug and alcohol scene from the dorms.

Class Selection – There is a wide variety of classes offered including a wide variety once you have selected your major which allows you to focus on the things that interest you more that just checking off boxes to complete your major.

The Inside Scoop – For your freshman year, I definitely suggest staying in the dorms. You meet so many people this way and there are always events going on. The campus life is great. There are a ton of places to chill and hang out. Of course, we all know ASU is known for partying and having a good time, and you'll find just that!

Great Program – Most of the professors are great here. I attend the downtown campus where the classes are a little bit smaller, and it's nice because the professors are able to be available more. My professors have always been willing to help and answer questions, and they all have office hours where you can talk one-on-one. Also, the tutoring center provides a lot of review sessions that I suggest going to. They really help!

Fear the Fork! At Arizona State, you'll never have a dull moment. There is so much school spirit, especially when competing against our big rival University of Arizona, and the games are a blast to go to. Tempe/Phoenix is a great city that has something to offer for everyone. You can shop 'til you drop, catch a Diamondbacks or Suns game, or bike along Tempe Town Lake.

It was super expensive to live in the dorms but the experience was worth it. In the end, from sophomore year on I've lived off campus to save money.

Family and Human Development – Very interesting major, lots of room for other classes so i have room for a double major or minor. This major in particular does a good job at having internships available. They also work with the Honors College at ASU to help us honors students write our thesis.

There is no "strictness" to speak of. Aside from some professors who act like their class is the only thing in the world that could ever matter to the student in it, it's rare to find strict rules.

ASU is famous for being a "party school" and the students that go here have earned that reputation. With Mill Ave being so close and being filled with different bars and clubs and dance halls it is easy to fall into the temptation to get lost in the crowd. It's a great place to get lost and forget about your troubles for a while. It is not conducive to hard work or striving to get all A+'s.

The work load at ASU is intense. For a "party school" they sure are extremely tough on grading. I have a 3.76 gpa and it is incredibly hard for me to keep even though in high school I was an all honors and AP student. It is near impossible to hold a job and go to school full time at this particular college and that is a big problem for me. They also follow a totally unfair grading policy when using the +/- system. Getting an A- hurts my gpa and yet having a B+ or even a B helps my gpa? That's not fair. An A takes more work to get whether its A- or A+...

Guys & Girls:
Girls Fit the Reputation – The girls are what one would expect from Arizona State: hot and dumb. And while many of them are party girls, there are a select few whom spent time studying. The guys mainly consist of jocks.

Not Very Challenging – I'm in the film making practices program and I have found that this major is much easier than many of the other ones. The classes take very little effort, with many of the tests being too easy.

Could Have Been Easier – You definitely have to stay on top of your things because not all of your information gets processed on time due to how many students there are. Plus things get lost frequently.

At Arizona State University there is a plethora of diversity. Many people from all over the world come to get an education at ASU. I couldn't imagine anyone being turned down because they were "different" than everyone else.

Great Study Areas – At Arizona State University there are plenty of libraries and other areas to study and do homework. In each library they have several floors and as you go up the floors, it gets more quiet. The top floor is silent so if you need to get an essay done in a quick amount of time that's a perfect place to complete it. However if you don't like libraries, that's not an issue. ASU has lots of scenery such as gardens, lawns, picnic tables, etc. These places are also great for studying and doing homework. It's also great for having a study group because you won't disturb others like you could in a library.

Being a psychology major here is awesome. There are so many amazing teachers that are fully aware of what they are teaching. Even better than that they all have office hours in which they are all very helpful with whatever problem you bring in.

School parking is excellent. The students who pay more for parking park closest to the campus and the student who pay less for parking have to walk a good 15 to 20 minutes to get to campus. But parking is very clean and very trustworthy.

Computer Systems/Software Engineering – Obtaining a masters in this degree would give me the opportunity to create programs, different software's fro every office, etc. My dream would to work for the government and creating programs that would benefit in helping to catch criminals.

Well I haven't lived on campus yet but from what I have heard, they are pretty suitable and satisfactory. Some dorms in other areas of the university are more up scaled than others.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
