Phoenix Is a Little Rough, but You Gotta Be Tough – Phoenix/Tempe can get expensive! But if you can handle a tougher neighborhood you can slide by pretty easily. Just be careful in the two cities.

The parking for this campus is outrageous. I've visited schools twice the size of ASU and their parking is less half the price of ASU's cheapest parking permit. And they have just barely finished installing covers, which is ridiculous considering the extreme heat in the area. Even still, there are parking spaces around campus that still don't have parking covers.

None of the ASU teams are any good, which means only the most hardcore sports fans or lonely alumni attend the games. There are very few average ASU students attending the games, which makes going to see a football/basketball game pretty useless.

Way overpriced parking is not worth it and keeps my savings on edge, while there is more than enough space for parking in certain areas, but they are off limits

Best Spots in Town – There is a huge variety of places to eat in and around campus. It's all here.

Best Isnt Good Enough – no matter how hard you try there are just way too many students at ASU that will out do you for scholarships. no chance at all.

The MU – its the best place to feed my type 2 diabetes cravings.

The weather at ASU is awesome! People complain if it gets below 60 degrees, which is not very often. It is all sunshine :)

Party School – ASU is technically a dry campus and the rules they have written down may seem strict, but they hardly, if ever, enforce the rules. ASU does not have a party school reputation for nothing!

Be in Barrett – I am in Barrett, The Honors College at ASU and am also in the WP Carey Academy for the business school this gives me many extra opportunities. The workload may be a bit harder, but the program is great. Barrett just got new facilities, so it is super nice!

Guys & Girls:
Its a Party School – On this campus, you have a wide diversity of people from all different backgrounds and styles. Most of the time you will see the party crowd who go night clubbing almost every night. You don't see many friendships forming unless you have the same class or something. I've noticed that alot of people have the trouble of making new friends. There are alot of hot girls who just want a good time. There are alot of guys who spend their time working out so they can stand out for the party girls. I like to think that its another version of the high school stereotypes.

There Is Stuff to Do – The atmosphere is very chill. In a mile radius of campus you have a bunch of fine restaurants. There is always a play, comedy show, concert that you can go to. Since the Light Rail and Transit Center are on the outskirts of campus, the ability to travel back and forth from Phoenix and Tempe is very enticing. The locals here are very student friendly and you get that hometown feeling.

Health & Safety:
Very Open Campus – There's not much security on the Tempe campus when it relates to people being able to walk through the campus grounds and do what they want to. It gets pretty crowded sometimes when your walking from one class to another. In the rare ocassion you get the "blind" driver who almost kills you or the "lovable drunk" who won't stop bothering you.

The athletic centers are always being used from open to close by student athletes and many others who are keeping up their health. They offer many different classes like yoga, pilates, and spin. the main library is open 24 hours which is always helpful and gives a place to study all the time.

Good but Expensive – The nicer dorms on campus are a lot more expensive than the older ones, even costing more than in-state tuition.

I dont know how this works at ASU because I am not currently on scholarship.

Guys & Girls:
The girls are GORGEOUS. Arizona is known for having hot students, and I would definitely say the ladies of ASU are proof of that. Tempe 12 is also evidence enough. The guys are equally attractive.

Honestly, ASU definitely gives a great freshman experience. It's probably not something I would do for 4 years though.

Not gonna lie, police crack down hard on parties, and several people get MIC's. But for the most part, if you're careful, you'll get home safely without the campus security knowing.
College Senior 2011-02-04T05:56:46Z
There's definitely a melting pot of ethnic groups at ASU.

Besides the excruciating summer heat, the weather is absolutely amazing. Is there any other school on the west coast that throws raging pool parties in February? Definitely not.
College Senior 2011-02-04T05:54:25Z
The safety escort is probably my lifesaver over the weekend. Parking is definitely ridiculous here--the towing is insane and the parking spots are normally full on weekends, so people normally get around by taxi.

The best places are the Barret dining hall and the Memorial Union

Overall, ASU is looked at as a big party school in which almost anyone can get in, but really, ASU holds very highly ranked programs. The Walter Cronkite school of Journalish is very well known as well as the business program here at ASU.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
