Everyone works really hard to get into the nursing program at ASU. The program is really great. All the teachers really care about your success. Everyone in your block will become a close nit group. The program is very difficult, but if you made it to the program, you'll make it through the program.

Greek Life is not big at the ASU Downtown Campus. If your looking for Greek Life, go to the Tempe Campus. There are no Greek Houses at the Downtown campus.

Horrible Parking Options – The only thing that works well is the flash bus that takes students around campus. Other than that the parking situation is horrible and the permits are not affordable.

Health & Safety:
I think it could be a little bit more lit, but overall I usually feel decently safe while walking around at night.

The printers almost always seem to run out of toner at least twice a year. Then, it takes forever to get them replaced, and as a Graphic Design student, I am left in the dark with printing.

More Money? One of the reasons i decided to get a dorm on campus was because the parking permit is a bit out of my range. I think it's more money for the gas and for the parking. It sucks more when you're late because you get the awful parkings; they are FAR away and you end up being late to class.

Good Place to Stay – The dorms are great at the downtown campus. You get to chose if you want to share rooms or just the restrooms. We have a gym on the second floor and also a starbucks. I would rate the quality of this dorms a TEN from a 1-10 scale because they are clean. Although the cost varies by which tower you stay, the social atmosphere, and the experiences are priceless.

No More Please – Having a meal plan is good but I don't recommend to get it unlimited meal. The food is good but also, you get tired of eating the same repetitive meals. I suggest to go around campus and visit the different restaurants in downtown. There's fancy places to go but also there's places that take you home; having a variety foods from different places around the world. Going back to the dinning halls on campus, the food is great and you eat "buffet style" although its good but too much repetitive food is not as great.

You Just Have to Push for What You Want. Nobody here has any reason to complain about being bored or left out. There is something for everyone. You just need to look for it.

You Won't Be Bored. Regardless of whether you are over or under 21, there is plenty to do. If you are more of a homebody, there are people who are into that too. There is never a shortage of any type of person at ASU.

Sports Are a Big Deal Here, but They Can Be Avoided If You Want – I am not a huge sports fan, and I haven't had too much trouble steering clear of people who go to those events. I've gone to two football game though, and it was certainly fun. It is really up to you whether or not you are surrounded by it.

Apartments Are Easy to Find – Mesa has nice apartments and at reasonable price. It's really close at the campus too. it's a safe place to live at

In-State Students Get the Advantage – About half of the students are out-of-state, and they are more than likely out of luck when it comes to getting scholarships. Even if you had perfect grades in high school and continued to have good grades in college, unless you're from the state of Arizona, financial aid is very limited. On the other hand, if you are from Arizona then many times they will pay you to go to school since you receive large amounts of scholarship money and the in-state tuition is about 20% of what the out-of-state price is.

High Police Volumes – Drinking is way more popular than drugs around campus, although you will always find the occasional stoner if you look. The worst part is the extreme police enforcement who will pull you over if you're driving anytime, anywhere after 9pm. They are incredibly strict on drinking and driving here, which would typically be a good thing, but in the Tempe police's case, they will pull you over even if you're heading home from the library. This is annoying.

Great Options Close to Campus – Once you finish your freshmen year, about 98% of students choose to move off campus for a number of reasons: it's cheaper, more fun, and the options are nearly endless. Since most students bring their cars out after freshmen year, it's easier to get around when you live off campus, and even if you don't own a car the public transportation isn't bad either. Renting a room in a shared apartment will run you between $400-$600 a month (some places include utilities), and the same with a house. As long as you stay within a few miles of campus and live with people you can get along with, living off campus is a breeze.

Not Too Bad – I was able to recieve alot of financial aid due to accademic scholarship, and i know the majority of people have some kind of aid or scholarship, there are alot you can recieve, maybe not alot of money, but atleast its something
College Senior 2011-01-25T01:41:37Z
The financial Aid process was quick and easy. All you had to do was fill out the FAFSA application and they would give you a number as to what they would offer for scholarship or loans.

Guys & Girls:
Girls Are Hot, Guys Are Tools – The A+ goes to the girls, deffinately some of the most attractive women are found here on the ASU campus, and there is deffinately no shortage of them. However the vast majority of the guys are total bros and total tools

You can get anywhere on campus within a 10 minute walk and there are several other means of transportation to get you where you want to be. There is university bus that drives around all of ASU. There is a light rail that will take you across ASU as well as to Downtown Phoenix and the Downtown ASU Campus.
College Senior 2011-01-25T01:37:34Z
Very Diverse Campus – You pretty much get it all at ASU. If you were to take a walk down Palm anytime of the day, any day of the week you will no doubt be surrounded by all ethnicities and backgrounds. As the largest camus in the country, you can imagine the amount of people you will find all over, in fact I wouldnt be suprised to learn that whites are a minority.

Guys & Girls:
Hottest Girls in the Country – There may be only a few other schools in the country that even slightly compare with the hotness of the girls at ASU. You can not walk outside without seeing at least 10 fine looking ladies! It seems as though every attractive girl in the United States decided to come to Arizona State University!
College Senior 2011-01-25T01:26:34Z
Pretty Easy to Get Something – It's pretty easy to get at least some amount of scholarship money just automatically when you apply. Almost everyone I know got at least a couple grand after being accepted without even having to do any applications. To get more money is a little more difficult. There is general scholarship application you can use once you apply, that puts you in the running for numerous opportunities. Financial aid can be easily accepted/adjusted through your My ASU account. Nothing too complicated.
College Senior 2011-01-25T01:18:37Z
Greeks Run the Parties – If you're in a frat, every girl wants to know you, because you have connections to a majority of the parties. If you're not, you'll have to look much harder for decent parties (that won't be broken up instantly), especially since ASU is a dry campus. Frats get an exception to the rule. Feel free to party in your dorm though, which I guess is cool, but don't get caught.
College Senior 2011-01-25T01:14:52Z
Best Option: Chuck Box – The best affordable location is the Chuck Box, a cash-only burger joint on Rural. Food is excellent, close by, and not too expensive. The only problem is they do not take Sun Dollars or credit/debit, only cash. Other eating locations include Taco Bell, where you will find plenty of drunk people at night trying to steal the paintings off the walls. There is also a Wendy's that accepts Sun Dollars, which is convenient but it is probably the worst Wendy's location within 15 miles. Don't worry - they have a fancy drink machine with hundreds of options. Tempe Marketplace is a bike-ride away and has good food options as well.

Due to the fact that I am an out of state student and my family is of low income, financial aid is extremely important to me. From my experience, it is extremely difficult to get and the assistants in the financial aid offices are not helpful. From my experience, all they want is for you to pay your balance and they do not explore different options as far as payments go with you. I wish I had tips for getting more financial aid. Every year I find myself having to take out more private student loans to cover costs.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
