Guys & Girls:
Sorority/Frat Kids, but There Are a Variety! There are a lot of "sorority/frat" kids, but there is clearly a variety considering the number of students on campus! Everyone likes to wear shorts, and girls are especially short in the summer - but that's the Arizona heat!

Nice Campus - but Obviously HOT – I really enjoy Tempe, and the campus where ASU is located. However, the city is clearly HOT in the summer, which causes bike transportation to be difficult. There are always plenty of events to attend in the Phoenix area - there's something for everyone!

Depends on Your Degree – I love ASU - but I have found my niche in Environmental Engineering. I know some of my basic, mandatory classes were not very engaging or informative. However, if one strives to find their place, they will have a great experience.

I feel like the school isn't really strict on us. It all depends on the individuals. those who are the most disciplined and strict on themselves tend to succeed and do all the better. Those who slack and don't put forth the effort don't get the benefit and success which they might if they had more standards for themselves.

In terms of illegal drugs, it's not a huge problem. The school isn't over run with drugs by any means. There are constantly parties going on, however, which means that alcohol is easy for anyone of any age to get.

Football Is King – ASU football is huge. Every game, whether it be at home or away, is celebrated with parties everywhere. The stadiums are constantly filled with people at home games, as are every parking lot near the stadium.

Apartments Are Everywhere – There are apartments all around ASU. Within ten minutes from campus in any direction, you are bound to pass three-five apartment complexes. Most of them offer housing that could be affordable to the common student budget.

i think every dorm or apartment around campus is a huge party. you cant go a day without seeing a party SOMEWHERE

Just Hot – The weather doesn't really affect me in any way. It's hot most of the year except between October-February. It can get annoying to walk to classes in the heat, but everything at the downtown campus is closeby so I don't really have a problem with it.

"It's Quiet Hour!!!" – ASU is actually very strict. The administrators aren't dumb, they are very well aware that underage drinking happens very often. They have all campus' swarming with police all the time. Also, every floor has a CA and they can be very strict, mostly about quiet hours. People get written up a lot for stupid things like being too loud or running in the halls. In some ways, it still feels like high school with all the rules.

Toxic Food – Arizona State University (Downtown Campus) has decent food. But most of the time it looks reused from previous meals. For example, for lunch they served meat loaf and used the leftover meat from earlier to make meat for tacos for dinner. It was gross. This doesn't happen everyday, but when it does it's gross. Also there isn't much of variety of food to eat. It's all fattening and unhealthy. I do not enjoy the food there.

ASU's Tempe campus comprises of many fantastic and entertaining facilities. The student union (MU) is the most widely popular place of gathering. The union is composed of many restaurants offering to please anyone's preference. Along with restaurants it has many other services to offer such as a barber shop, formal apparel shops, and a convenience mart just to name a few. In conclusion it is not surprising that this hot spot it always heavily populated.

First College – I can say it ASU wants to be known for a diverse university.

The nightlife around Arizona State is very alive. They are many clubs for 18 years old, but of course there are more for 21 or older. ASU also have many clubs at night that keep students entertain.

A Lot of Options – There are restaurants not only on campus, but anywhere near campus. If people walked to left or right for a couple minutes there are many restaurants to choose from. Even though they are fast food restaurants, there are a lot of options!

Not Good – Parking is soooo expensive and worth paying the amount to get a close spot
Recent Alumnus 2010-07-23T01:30:24Z
Very Diverse – I see all kinds of different ethnic backgrounds walking campus and in class

Greek life does not dominate the social scene at all. Frat parties are fun, but there is so much more to do on and off campus. You do not need to be a part of Greek life to have fun, although as a part of one, I can say that it is a lot of fun and an excellent way to make your circle of friends bigger.

Guys & Girls:
Typical Looks – All the girls are really cute. The guys wear a lot of cut off shirts and have the "bro" look.

Health & Safety:
Safety Services – There is a safety service available to all students on the main campus called "Safety Escort". Every night from 7pm to 2am, ASU runs about 5 vans who serve as "taxis" to students who need a ride from A to B on campus. You call into a hotline and say where you want to be picked up and where you want to be dropped off. Although it can only take you to places on campus, it is convenient and completely free. It keeps you safe while getting to where you need to go. The one bad problem is that the vans can get backed up with calls that could last over an hour.

I don't really know yet for I am still getting to know it...so far everything here is alright. I just want to get my education, leave, and start my life.

Not Much – The drug scene is not very large. It all depends on the crowd you hang around. Mostly I only see people smoking cigarettes.

Can't Wait! At this very moment I am still attending Glendale Community College receiving my associates by the end of the fall semester. I am majoring in Broadcast Journalism and am very excited. I am looking forward to being on camera, meeting new people, gossiping about the problems and what is going on in the world, and much more.Right now, I am all about keeping a good GPA and getting all my core requirements out of the way. Although I might get nervous at times, I am very excited for my future!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
