There is quiet a variety of off campus housing but hard to obtain.

I'm not too sure about this as now I'm online only, but when I went to ASU for a semester it seemed pretty homogenous.
College Sophomore 2013-10-31T16:23:00Z
This isn't relevant to me.
College Sophomore 2013-10-31T16:22:28Z
I don't know, but it seems very hopping!

I haven't had an internship and at this point I am not sure if I will have one or not. As I've mentioned before, I'm an online only student so some opportunities are limited for me. I'm also in the Bay Area so there are a lot of great internship opportunities in this area. Who knows!

So far, I am very happy with the program as I really want to be able to write as my career choice and I enjoy taking classes at home. I have health issues that may make it difficult for me to get to an actual classroom each day. My main concern is getting a degree in the humanities at a time many of my peers with degrees in the humanities can't find jobs.

So far, I have loved attending Arizona State University online. I love to play on my computer and read, and now I am doing these things and earning a degree for it. It has been an affordable and feasible choice for me.

One of the great things about Arizona is it has a good amount of sprawl - when I went to ASU for a summer on its physical campus, there were huge parking lots with shuttles able to take me to and from class. Parking was always available.
College Sophomore 2013-10-30T20:24:34Z
I have no idea about any of this stuff? But there wasn't a selection of an "I don't know option." So I just picked things about randomly - I've never been in a sorority at ASU or known anyone who was. Sorry!

To be honest I'm just not that sure? I receive e-mails about events the English department is offering, but I am not able to attend since I am an online only student. It seems like there are a bunch of great activities, however. Meet your professor sessions and various talks.

I'm an English major in the Online program. So far it is great, as it is very convenient for me. I have a bunch of health issues and I can stay home and work when I'm not feeling well. I've always worked better independently, and I'm an introvert, and I think ASU online really speaks to that.

As someone in recovery who has attended recovery meetings in Tempe, I can say there is an active young recovery scene around ASU. Even thought this is a party school, you can find other people who don't drink or drug.

Guys & Girls:
Again, I'm an online only student. When I attended ASU in person for a semester in the past, it seemed fairly jockish.
College Sophomore 2013-10-30T20:19:35Z
OK, again, I'm an online only student but Tempe has great restaurant choices. Maybe a little more suburban than the Bay Area, but fairly eclectic for Arizona!

Health & Safety:
Again, I'm an online only student...
College Sophomore 2013-10-30T20:18:00Z
I am an online only student so I can eat at home while still attending class. =] Yay ASU online!

most ppl dont drink on campus bc they dont want the hassle of CAs or cant get alch underage, but if you wait til thurs (when parties noramally start) most parties supply you with alch. nobody spikes parties jungle juice, excpet for frats, thats the only case i heard of someone getting roffied, was at a frats party
College Freshman 2013-10-30T18:22:27Z
i didnt rush, but my suitemate is in the biig alpha delta gamma, and shes so-so about it. she has met bitchy people but shes met some cool people too. its expensive (like 1000$) a sems to be in them, but it covers trips, parties, clothes ect. frats are also ok, but they act up alot, they had their old place torn down bc its was grody, but now they live in the various party apt around campus. the frats throw most of the parties not the soros, nd the frats can be iffy about guys getting in so boys, be prepared to have a bunch of girls come with you, have money, or alch/weed to get into a frat party, but theres a bunch of normal ppl parties that let anyone in and are still fun

in the summer its 120 and in the winter its 65. so sunscreen and bathing suits in the summer and uggs tights nd sweaters in the winter. its dosent really rain much, but when it does it normally pours nd lightings then goes away
College Freshman 2013-10-30T18:17:42Z
you can drink in your ddorm depeing on who your CA is, and so long as you are crazy loud. i live in a moderatley loud dorm (PVW) and the 6th floor is crazy at night because the CA is normally gone so everyone drinks and runs around screaming. but to smoke cigs you can sit outside, but depending on who is CA at the time, you might get a housing violation, bc your not supposed to smoke on campus. most ppl walk to the stadium or the river to smoke weed. and you CANNOT at al smoke anything in the dorms bc all CAs dont play around with that. at parties if the cops show up, smile wave, walk right and have a big group, bc some police will lie and say 'we just want everyone to leave' but as ppl leave they will breathalize/ fine you. so have a big group in case you all wana inspire a revolt of running away from the cops
College Freshman 2013-10-30T18:13:33Z
i would suggest getting the 500$ memebership for the games, bc football is a huge part of the campus life as is the basketball i hear. and with football being 25$ a game, its save money come bball season to have bought the pass. EVERYONE is dressed up on football games, so the school is normally a sea of gold or maroon on those days
College Freshman 2013-10-30T18:11:39Z
ASU lets in alot of international students, so most people know of an international student or, like me, rooms with one. so its deff a diff experience if youve never had to live or communicate with someone who doesnt speak fluent english. most international students are asian or middle eastern. the school is still mostly white, but you will not be the only on of your race, its still a good mix
College Freshman 2013-10-30T18:08:58Z
my teachers are all very different in their styles. my core bio class is a hetic 4 part class that had two teachers teach each haf of the semester and the first teacher was one of those super smart, but shouldent be teaching, kind of teachers. and the other is one who actually does teach and ask if you understand. my math class is half lecture and half online, so its rather hetic bc some kids are way behind online so her lectures will be way far ahead. but my asian civ is the typical lecture and quiz class that i enjoy
College Freshman 2013-10-30T18:08:58Z
people study wherever on the campus. so youll see people in the shade lawns or in the libraries at all hours of the day. and hayden library is 24/hrs
College Freshman 2013-10-30T18:06:04Z
theres free buses that take you around the campus, or to streets around campus, and there are commuinty colleges that are close that you can meet the students that go there at parties and whatnot. everyone who lives around here and is into sports generally reps sundevil nation so ASU is top dog out here. the nightlife is great if your a drinker and they finally built a club for the 18+ on mill ave so we dont have to cab it out to scottsdale anymore
Sorry, there are no reviews.
