I absolutely love the honors college at ASU. Barrett the Honors College is a gem. The housing is superior to the rest of campus, though the new Hassyampa dorms nearly rival them. There was a helpful, accessible tutoring service specifically for Barrett students, though I have used the general ASU tutoring service and was very pleased with that as well. The dining is great at Barrett and average (but good) in the other dining halls on campus. The social scene is alive and very active; I had no trouble making friends my first year at ASU.

I love my school. It's fairly clean (even after weekends full of parties). I love the vegetation and general aesthetic of my Tempe campus. The athletic center is large and sufficient--though I typically avoid the weight room due to the male-dominate atmosphere. The Memorial Union is nice, has lots of food options, but not very many study/hang out options, especially for the number of students on campus. The library is large, but I rarely use it. There are many different green areas to lounge/study in. I love all of the free events/give-aways held on campus, and even the vendors set up on campus.

Since I am not of age for the Tempe bar scene, there are not very many options for me. There are many parties, but other types of underage nightlife are few and far between. There are several underage clubs in Scottsdale I have been to, but transportation to there is only accessible by car.

I'd rate it is fairly average. What I really appreciate is the fact that Arizona State has a very efficient email alert response system, which sends out general alerts via email to all students. If you link your Arizona State email with your general email, it makes it much easier to receive the alerts directly to that email. I personally check my personal email far more than my student email so it simplifies things for me.

I'm from California and am very much used to a very diverse crowd. Unfortunately, the campus is dominated more by certain ethnic groups - predominately white middle class.

Greek life is stereotypical in the sense of parties, frat and sorority life ect. In my opinion it isn't as big a deal as other college campuses.

My specific major employs a very hands on approach to prepare individuals for physically active careers as well as grad schools such as physical therapy. This is different from other degrees which minimize lab exposure and fundamental physical training. The workload is similar to that of kinesiology but a little less stringent and more general to accommodate a wider variety of possible post baccalaureate opportunities. The facilities have recently been upgraded due to the increase in applicants to the program and the faculty are very knowledgeable. Internships are simple to obtain but the job opportunities are entirely dependent on the students intentions.

Getting into my major was easy since the requirements are minimal in comparison to similar degrees. This enables individuals who once were not serious to correct their ways and still have a chance at the career goal they intended upon.

The main campus at ASU costs too much to park at and they could expand the parking services. Downtown almost everyone has to drive (including myself) and it is overpriced. The public transportation system is set up well to coordinate with the influx of college students near the campuses.

Guys & Girls:
Many of the guys and girls at Arizona State are very superficial. They usually worry about appearance in relation to physical looks, social behavior, and academic performance. For the most part, the girls dress very sensually, and many of the guys dress to reinforce a tough bravado. However, there are those who are less worried about appearances and are more sincere in their social interactions which usually deems that they are more academic driven. Overall, it is very easy to find a certain group of individuals that one is most comfortable with at ASU since the university is so huge and has multiple campuses.

Student teaching is a required internship for my major. I have already completed one internship for my bachelors and will do another one for my masters. The internship is not paid and is a full time commitment. For the masters they work with you and you can apply for an intern certificate so you can work full time and do the student teaching at the same time. The responsibilities are the same as a full time teacher. You have lesson plans, meetings, grading papers, etc. I have no concerns about finding an internship, since it will be apart of my job that I have already. I am just concerned about working full time and doing student teaching at the same time. It will be a lot of work.

If you are applying for financial aid at ASU make sure you file your FAFSA early and enter apply for loans.

Guys & Girls:
I attend online classes so I don't have a clue how hot the guys are at Arizona State University, I'm a female by the way.

For the first two months of classes it is very hot. 100 degrees or more. Most of the school year the weather is very nice and there is hardly ever a bad weather day. We appreciate the bad weather days.

There is a wide variety of computer labs on campus! They are fast and the monitors are nice. If you want to use an Apple there is access to those too!

One policy about to go in affect is that the ASU campus will be strictly a non-smoking campus. No smoking allowed anywhere on campus and I think that is pretty strict compared to what it used to be. I also know that when you have a 3.5 GPA or higher while you are a senior you are invited to the prestigious honors club. Also, if you are an international student you cannot work more than 20 hours a week. I think these are all positives in academics and are showing that being strict is a good thing.

The availability of internships and the career services councilor is unbelievable. It's very easy to find the one required internship and even easier to find more than 1.

The teachers and curriculum at the Cronkite School are fantastic. The teachers really care about the students and the class sizes are no bigger than 50 students.

The weather is super hot in the summer and very nice in the winter. Winters are very cold with snow up north but good for tempe camus. Overall the weather could not be better, anyone would love living here!

Mill avenue is very popular spot near asu campus. There are many bars, clubs, and restraunts with plenty of fun for you and all your friends! I love it there and anyone who decides to attend asu should check it out!

Good transportation. There are even campus shuttles that travel between all of ASU's campuses

Not applicable to me because I am not familiar with their housing.

Very good. Close to campus and has a lot of great features. Pricing not so great.

Health & Safety:
ASU is pretty safe and the police/safety escort are really helpful. It's not that it's dangerous, it's just uncomfortable being out and about at night because there may be some drunk students running about.

for the over 21 crowd, excellent! Very social campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
