The main dining facility offers a variety of options for students to choose from. However, many of these options are fast food, which I try to avoid. I think the school should implement healthier restaurants into the dining hall to encourage students to live a nutritionally sound lifestyle.

I never lived on campus so I can't rate the housing with confidence. However, the dorms that I have visited are quite spacious and well maintained. The social atmosphere is very active with people skateboarding, biking, jogging, etc. Although peaceful at times, campus life seems to be a constant buzz of social engagement and determined students fulfilling their daily duties.

Public transportation options are effective and convenient. The recently installed light rail near the campus is great for both local and long distance transportation. The bus system adds yet another option for students to take advantage of with its conveniently located stops throughout campus and around the city. Out of the various transportation possibilities, these two are the most affordable.

Campus parking is limited and very expensive. So expensive, in fact, that a ticket received for parking in a restricted space is less costly than an actual permit. However, trying to park off campus can be difficult due to restricted areas and inconvenient locations. This campus is in dire need of more cost effective, convenient parking structures.

Many computers aren't in working condiction. It takes a computer quite a long time to log in or off. Printing is quite expensive at about 12 cents for a black and white page. Sometimes the command to add a certian document to the print anywhere profile doesn't register.

There are many restaurants on campus in the union building as well as just near by the campus

We're not the number one party school for nothing! Wish I was 21 to go to the bars/clubs on Mill Ave.

Lived at Taylor Place on the downtown phoenix campus. Do not expect to eat well

A lot of people use pot and pills. Known as the #1 party school, expect lots of alcohol at parties

The weather is warm and nice all year long. It is so nice to be able to walk around in flip flops all year long if you wanted.

Students are involved in everything. There is never a lack of something to do or a form of school involvement that you can become invested in if you wanted.

There are decent programs but i have had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with professors who seem to not really care about the fact that they are teaching students and we would like to learn from them .

There is always something to do. Especially if you know where to look.

Getting in the program is very easy as long as you follow all of the correct steps provided by your advisers. You don't enter the professional program until your junior year to make sure that you fully attend to teach in the future. So, along the first 2 years your advisers will gradually take you on the steps in order to get in the program (email alerts, advising session, workshop where the program is discussed fully).

Tempe although not big has a pretty decent atmosphere. There is shopping, restaurants, and nightlife all around the campus. Also, Arizona in general offers lots of outdoor sport/recreation activities.

Financial Aid can be a hassle to some. Make sure that you do everything as soon as you get notice to do it, otherwise you will get holds on your account and might not receive your aid on time.

I live at home but I've been to the Barretts dorms and they're really nice!

The cafeteria area is a nice social place to chat with friends and meet new people. The food at ASU west is fresh and has a variety of foods. The library is a great place to study and as three computer rooms, which means there will always be a computer available.

I am currently in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU. The over all program is great and the workload is about average. I haven't been able to go into the classrooms because of work. The online classes give me flexibility and I don't have to worry about driving an extra hour a day to get to school and back. The teachers are responsive and help with the topics they are teaching.

Arizona State University has one of the best education programs in the US but their education program doesn't have all the subjects that a teacher can possibly teach. If you want to get an art teaching degree you have to go to the art college in ASU instead of the teachers college at ASU. Other than that ASU is a college that has a lot of programs, you just have to know where to look.

I'm a vegan so it's important as a college student for me to be able to have a place to get quick, cheap, take-out that suits my diet. The campus at ASU in Tempe fits those needs with various vegetarian and vegan restaurants close by, many of which do delivery. Also, at many of the non-vegetarian restaurants, there are vegan and vegetarian options available because they know that a lot of people in the area are veg. Like Mellow Mushroom--a super famous pizza joint on Mill Avenue that has a bar, great music, TVs, serves meat, but also has vegan cheese options and tofu and tempeh toppings for your sandwiches and pizzas.

There are a lot of top notch professors here who are widely recognized in their fields. Whenever reading articles on separate websites, it is not uncommon for me to see references--or even studies--from Arizona State. This is most true for the sciences, especially physics, geology, and biology. I have met or seen several famous scientists here.

I was in the School of Life Science and I couldn't have received a better experience. I came into SOLS at a time where they were really working on reforming the structure of their classes and curriculum. The faculty and administration is superb and you won't find such friendly people who are willing to go out of their way to help you--even if they don't know you that well--if they see that you are a hard worker.

Health & Safety:
The best part of ASU's West campus was that I felt safe most of the time; however, there have been some incidents (mostly at the Tempe campus). Although having ASU Alerts were great, at least I felt safer at the West campus (smaller environment) than in the Tempe campus (college town).

The facilities most of the time were clean and well-maintained. The only disadvantages to ASU is that since Tempe is the main campus, they do not provide one near Northeast Phoenix areas.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
