ASU Football has got talk of going to the Rose Bowl this year. Baseball and Softball are at the top like usual. IM sports are also huge and very competitive

ASU Poly Campus has an high altitude chamber that can simulate high altitudes. The Pilots use it to figure out their symptoms of hypoxia

Options for off-campus dining are not as great at the Poly Campus. Better have transportation to the off-campus dining. If you do you will enjoy some great food

All Depends what Campus you are on. If you are on the Tempe Campus then you have it all. Some of the other campuses don't have it top notch like the Tempe Campus

It is as normal as any off-campus housing. There are many amenities at most places, including utilities, pools, gyms, and lounges. The prices are kind of high, and they do not always provide transportation shuttles to campus. Most of them are very safe and secure.

The facilities at ASU are top notch. The athletic center is beautiful with many modern amenities, as well as a pool and racquetball court. Many of the Arizona native plants and desert landscape is incorporated into the campus spaces.

The social scene at ASU is somewhat dismal. Many students live in the area so many are still hanging out with the kids they went to highschool.

Arizona State University does a great job at incorporating diversity and strives to showcase the large Hispanic and Native American influences that AZ has to offer/

Variety of sports to choose from and the best university to represent. There are allot of good athletes that graduate from Arizona State University and have a successful future.

Guys & Girls:
There is no typical look for an ASU girl or guy. Everyone has their own individuality and that's what makes ASU a great place to be. It has such a big diversity and no judgment on their students that everyone has a different background and they are still accepted for who they are.

Public transportation is really convenient at Arizona State University. They even have buses that run from different campuses in case students attend them and need a ride from one campus to another. They also have another bus that runs around the campus in case one class is on the other side of the campus so the students do not have to walk very far.

There is a lot of parking spaces as well as apartments around the school. However, sometimes it is a bit expensive but it is a very safe environment.

There are so many different ethnicity and religions that are welcomed at the school. I always noticed there were a lot of foreign exchange students and from what I hear is that they love it here as well. There is also clubs for different types of religions as well as ethnic groups in which they still welcome everyone even if they aren't the same religion or ethnicity.

Getting into a new major is relatively easy. All that needs to be done is to see a counselor for that type of school and decide your future classes. Changing or adding a major can get more complicated depending if it is in the same school or not. If it is for different departments, the student must get the approval of their original counselor and the new counselor. The reason why this is difficult is because there is miscommunication and bureaucracy to go through. Gaining or changing a major in the same department is easy because the student only needs to meet with the counselor that they already have.

Health & Safety:
If you have a bike, make sure you have a good bike lock. Don't leave any belongings of value either. ASU is just like any other place, if you leave your stuff, things will get stolen. There are a good number of emergency telephones and campus police are always around if you need them. I feel pretty safe as long as I'm on a bike or walking with someone.

There is always a place for students to hang out. The best place is at the Memorial Union where there is food and places to study. The library is nice, especially during finals week. It can get crowded but they offer free coffee and snacks for those that are there all night studying. There is a gym that is free if you are an ASU student (technically not since the payment is included in the tuition so why not go there?). There are really cool traditions, especially during homecoming week- my favorite is the lantern walk.

ASU has a strong business school but the language programs are a little outdated and unhelpful. The facilities are all around nice with some peaceful and unique areas to sit and talk with friends but there is a lot of construction that sometimes is just not needed that makes you wonder where your tax and tuition are going. There are lots of clubs to join as well to meet other people that share the same interests. Campus life is also really nice but again, it's nice if you have friends to hang out with.

The campus life at ASU is amazing. Between 517+ clubs that do things regularly and seemingly infinite Greek Organizations there is much to get involved with. The campus has a regular farmers market during some weeks. Live music happens directly outside of the Student Center on a regular basis. There are also exhibitions and activist groups displaying there beliefs throughout the campus all the time as well.

The food available off-campus is awesome, however the neighborhood is somewhat bad. I've had my first car broken into twice, then had it stolen, this is at three different restaurants. My mother also had her car broken into while we were eating after one of my finals. Aside from that they are relatively cheap, and relatively convenient. Almost all of them offer student discounts. However, due to my automobile issues I stopped eating directly off campus so I couldn't tell you what the best restaurants are.

I have always been a challenged student with my grades, in other words I have to work hard for a passing grade.

Apartments in Tempe are kind of expensive if you want to live in a decent one because of the lack of space. There are some pretty nice deals but most of the apartments around campus don't have housing during the Summer which limits the opportunities. There are also limits on leases so that if you need to move out during a month that is not on the lease, you are screwed. The plus side: there is public transportation everywhere. You can either pay for the bus, buy a semester/year long bus pass that is a great deal and can save you money on the lightrail, or take the free neighborhood bus that will still bring you to campus. However, there are a lot of weirdos so you've got to be careful.

There are a lot of bars that are for 21 and older but there are also a lot of other friendly places since the Tempe Campus is right at Mill Avenue. House parties are still more fun since it's cheaper and the people that you want to be around are there. There are also things to do on campus at night but mostly on Fridays. They show movies that haven't been released on DVD, have bowling discounts, and more.

It gets incredibly hot during Summer and lasts until the end of Fall which makes walking to classes miserable. I prefer the Winter and Spring because the weather is perfect and it makes people want to go outside more. At least the classes are well air-conditioned!

This is an area of improvement for ASU. There seems to be a great lack of communication in the financial aid office. If you are willing to stand in line, wait on the phone, or wait in an online chat room for answers, then you MAY receive a response.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
