I don't think anyone cares whether you are in the Greek life or not. Nobody pressures you to join a fraternity or sorority, either, which is nice. But when it comes to how the Greek life on campus affects campus life, I personally don't see a difference.

I have not yet been searching for off-campus living, but I haven't seen any options on the ASU housing website; it's all regulated towards the on-campus halls and apartments.

Public transportation here is the greatest. Everything you need is within walking distance. If its a little out of reach there are plenty of flash busses that travel around Tempe. There is a light rail that can bring you to the downtown campus. The intercampus shuttles provide a free and convenient way to travel to all of the local campuses. Even the valley metro bus provides everybody with affordable and constant transportation. If you want and need to travel back home, Sky Harbor Airport is less than 25 minutes away.

Greek life at ASU is only good for those who want to party. Some seem to actually want to learn but the majority want to get by. Greeks are viewed as stuck up and egotistical compared to the non-greeks.

Weather doesn't really affect the campus experience.

Some are really nice, like Hassy and Barrett. However then you have PV main and Best, which are dirty. Its all what you pay for, the nice ones are very expensive.

It is blue skies most all the time. It get's cold at night in the winter obviously but more than you would think. I haven't been through the summers here, but I heard it gets very hot.

You rarely notice these drugs on campus. You kind of just know.

The facilities at ASU are great. Varsity sports are of high importance and the teams are treated like royalty. The games are importance, and so is attendance!
College Sophomore 2013-02-25T23:03:39Z
Drinking is the most obvious activity in college. Drug use depends on the crowd you associate with. Pot is probably the most common thing to notice on campus in dorms. The drug use and drinking isn't overwhelming.

There are a variety of places down here in tempe that are incredible and of such a great quality. Being from california, I was worried I would never find any good japanese food, but there are even two great restuarants near by my dorm! There are many good mexican and iltalian restaurants, even vegan places as well. Some are more expensive than others, but they all have some good deal on their menus.

As long as you reach out to your counselors, they literally have lists of scholarships that you can apply for that you are eligble for.
-Talk to your counselor
-Look online for scholarships on google search
-There are scholarship events you can attend to learn about how to properly apply for the ones you want

The off campus is really nice as long as you choose one of the good apartment complexes. The block 1949, 922 place, and the Hub are wonderful places to live, and they are very spacious to live. Best thing too is that all feature fully furnished places for decent prices, pools, gyms, and are all home to college students so you're never out of place!

Frat guys are douches, greek girls are sexy and fun
College Sophomore 2013-02-24T17:57:12Z
Guys & Girls:
The guys, mainly frat guys, are huge douchebags. The sorority girls and any other girls are usually nice and sweet but there can be a bad one here and there. The guys here think too highly of themselves

There is opportunities available for all academic groups. I have joined a premed group that gives students the ability to speak with current practicing physicians and medical students. This gives insights into the current conditions in the field and the ability to ask questions about the reality of the path through medical school and beyond.

The transportation system at ASU is set up to provide all students easy access to the campus as well as the other campuses. The system is timely and available at all hours. It is safe and dependable.

All religious, ethnic and economic groups are represented at ASU. There is no discrimnation that I am aware of and there is support through the ASU parent association for economic needs additional to other financial options.

Police enforcement is strict for underage drinking and other illegal substances. They are available to maintain a safe environment. There is a safety program available for student and faculty that provides peace of mind to my mother. Using the system is easy and encouraged.

The environment has provided a good support for me in persuing my degree. I have only started at Arizona State but I know that it feels like home already and that has given me comfort in moving forward. I am committed to my academic achievement and I believe that ASU is as well. The professors are easily accessible for support and understanding of personal situations. I was able to rebound after my father's death in the first semester with the support of the counselors and classmates.

Im not a big fan of sport, But the the Sun Devils rock and role. There are regular football matches where all students attend and it becomes more like a socializing event where everyone has great fun. the team is also imporroving each day, so the matches are real fun.

I am a student in the Design school, Tempe. I really like our building. It has a very good and big library which has almost all what you look for. Tha computer labs are really good too. Thier is a workshop were students have access to to do all thier projects. Most facilities are open on weekends which makes a student's life much easier.

I haven't had an internship yet since this is my first year, but ASU really stresses the importance of finding one. As a pre-med student, I've been informed about the importance of gaining experience through research in order to better learn exactly how research works to prepare myself for medical school later in life.

Medicinal biochemistry majors are forced to take multiple science courses at a time, which means the average student spends as much time studying biology and chemistry in one week as a full time job. I have days where I wake up at 5:30 in the morning and go strong all day doing only science. I wouldn't change a thing though. I love what I'm learning and I want to stick with it, which is something not a lot of students (especially freshman) can say.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
