My schools campus life if amazing. Beautiful people everywhere as well as the campus set-up and scenery are awesome. We also have some of the top schools in the country like the business, engineering, nursing, and journalism schools.

The general demographic is white with a few minority races and religions. The outreach to the minority demographic is horrible and something they need to work on.I would highly recommend to join a club with your race or religion if you are in the minority.

ASU has a very diverse selection when it come to food. We have many dining halls that provide a wide selection for students with meal plans. In addition to dining halls, ASU also has many on campus fast food vendors, which come in handy when you're in a rush to get to class. There are also a lot of nice restaurants close by on University and Mill Ave.

ASU is an amazingly fun campus. There are always parties and clubs to got to. If you are of drinking age, Mill Ave is a great place to have fun. If you are not 21

Health & Safety:
I usually always feel safe at ASU. There are only a few small concerns when it comes to safety. Due to the size of our campus, traveling alone at night can be somewhat scary. There are a few unlit pathways that be a little unnerving at times. I suggest traveling on groups at night. However, the majority of my ASU experience has felt very safe and secure.

The ASU football and basketball teams are an amazing part of student life. Going to games and supporting our teams brings a sense of unity to such a large campus. Smaller teams and intramural sports are also a fun way to get involved.

Guys & Girls:
Huge variety in the students. From young and old, to punk and girly, there is a huge diversity in students! You can tell Greeks from non greeks though and then there is a lot of foreign students as well.

Housing is great! I have no complaints about the Barrett dorms and Ive seen other dorms like Hassy and Sonora and they are all relativily nice and have good set ups. Barretts bathrooms are by far the best though, just saying! Maintenance is good and timely when you need something done to the room too.

Health & Safety:
There are times at night in unlit areas that I dont feel too safe and there is a lot of construction right now so at night its a little scary. There is a lack of emergency phones in high traffic areas which could be do to the construction but still needs to be addressed. For the most part though I feel safe on campus

the dining on campus is very expensive but pretty nice. there is alot of options especially for vegans.
College Sophomore 2012-12-28T21:29:28Z
the dorms are nice and very close to classes. the amenities are great and everything is very accessible. the dorms are moderately priced but a bit expensive still and the housing process is very easy.

Health & Safety:
there is crime on campus but there are systems put in place so that one can be aware of what is going on. there are campus police and asu alert text messages to keep students safe.
College Sophomore 2012-12-28T21:17:33Z
there are available off campus options but Tempe is a smaller city and it can be difficult to find a safe environment.

You are forced to buy a meal plan that costs thousands of dollars. Otherwise the food is good and includes options for vegetarians, and there are several places to eat besides the main dining halls. Overall it's about average.

There are free shuttles constantly moving around the Tempe campus that always seem to be within a minute of their expected arrival times. The light rail goes straight through the campus and goes from Mesa to Phoenix and back. There are shuttles driving back and forth between the other campus. There's a special deal for an "ASU Pass" for students that lasts for the school year and costs less than normal bus tickets. And there's plenty of roads and parking garages (that may be somewhat expensive) if you have a car.
College Junior 2012-12-28T19:50:36Z
The housing is overpriced for typical or engineering on-campus dorms, and way overpriced for Barrett dorms. The normal dorms are the stereotypical college dorms with tiny rooms, shared bathrooms, and bad insulation/cooling. The Barrett dorms are actually very nice, but the bathrooms are still shared.
For food, you are forced to buy a meal plan, and have to go through lengthy legal documents if you have some religious reason to not eat food, otherwise they will try to work around your diet. The meal plan is more expensive than just buying groceries.
The housing would be slightly above average and might get a c+ or B if ASU didn't try to nickle and dime their students for everything.

Get to parking lot EARLY...especially on the first day. The Parking permits are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny for a good lot. Also, you are paying for the lot, not a spot. You could have a permit for the best lot, but have awkwardly-timed classes and end up in a spot that is pretty far away.

I've had no problems with their computers. The ones at Fletcher Library at the West Campus are a bit slow, but nothing too frustrating!
College Sophomore 2012-12-27T21:35:39Z
I think the most outstanding thing about ASU is how much there is to do on campus and around campus. You don't even have to join a club and there are still all kinds of events going on. This includes breakfasts and study parties, concerts, football games and basketball games, and so much off campus. Downtown is close enough on the Light Rail, Mill Avenue is a block off campus, and the Tempe Marketplace is only a few blocks away.

I LOVE BEING AN ARIZONA SUN DEVIL!! The gold and maroon runs through your veins. There is ALWAYS something to do on campus whether you join a club, meet new friends, or go to your hall events. The facilities are well kept and the Memorial Union has so much food! They get through the lines quickly so there is little to no wait. There is so much space to spend time doing homework out on the grass and during the spring all the trees and flowers are in bloom! Absolutely love it.

I won't give an A+ because of the cold in winter, even though its only in like the 60's and stuff it feels pretty cold. There are days in november and december I could wear shorts and sun dresses still though so that is the best part. As for the rest of the year weather is amazing and really hot sometimes but we just need to hydrate regularly and then you'll be good!
College Sophomore 2012-12-27T19:13:18Z
Greek has the parties and you always see them around campus with events and stuff. If you join them you'll get the hook ups for parties which is great but I also know that they are really tight together. Basically the greeks are fun and you'll love it if you join but if you don't you'll be good too!

The nightlife at ASU is a lot of fun. There is a strip called mill avenue very close by with all the bars clubs and social get togethers that you could think of. The atmosphere on mill avenue is great, especially with the new Tempe town lake right at the end of mill avenue that they have now, Not to mention all of the events that take place at tempe beach park from runs, charity events, the iron man ect..
Recent Alumnus 2012-12-26T23:33:34Z
The Tempe campus at ASU is very vibrant and diverse. Mill avenue is near by with lots of shopping, nighlife and eating, all of the locals go and its a great way to meet new friends and class mates. Near by is also tempe town lake our beautiful man made lake right on the boarder of campus, its vary romantic and a great scenery. sports are great at asu and the town definitley shows asu school spririt. Campus safety is great as well with a number of emergency phones all over the place.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
