The only problems I encountered were with certain Psychology advisors at ASU. Some were very rude and unhelpful while others were very kind and helpful. Choose Cody, he was the best one I've met!

I love ASU. The main campus is huge, is very diverse, and provides a great deal of opportunity in many areas for students.

very good, especially if cost a concern, one can get a very good apartment for a pretty decent cost.

My particular major is very famous all round the world, excellent faculty, and many more courses to choose from.

Coming from a different state university for my undergraduate degree, I was very unimpressed by the local atmosphere at ASU. They definitely have the typical college bar scene, but the downfall of ASU is the way the campus is spread out. There are major roads and a lot of local traffic driving through campus at all times. It is really difficult to get the "college feel" while on campus due to the city of Tempe. There are many professionals, families and students intermixed in the city and that really takes away from the atmosphere. The classes can be spread out over sections of campus and although there is the positive addition of the lightrail that serves the campus, it also services the downtown Phoenix area and many business professionals and families also take over this mode of transportation. ASU has great programs, but the placement of campus makes me grade the atmosphere so low. If you found a program you love, then stick to it and lie on campus, but if you're debating, you should really take a tour of campus during rush hour and see how much you really like it.

Diversity at Arizona State is pretty average. While there are multiple opportunities for students of different racial background to attend, the vast majority of students are white and come from a middle-class background. In my program of study, there is only one person who comes from a minority group as a single working-mother with low socioeconomic status. There is a wide variety of clubs and activities specifically aimed towards minority groups, but not enough to be a selling point of the campus.

The financial aid office at Arizona State University was rather confusing and unorganized. Coming from a different undergraduate university, I had certain expectations for the financial aid offices to be helpful about deadlines and award information. I found it incredibly difficult to get a consistent answer across the different aid offices and was asked to follow completely different protocols in submitting paperwork depending on who I talked to, even in specific departments. ASU does offer a lot of tools to find financial aid on their website, but overall, it was a bit of a headache to get receive my awards.

Sports at Arizona State are pretty well received. Students may dress up on Friday's to show "school spirit" throughout the campuses. Many groups can be found around the main campus practicing lesser known activities such as roller-footing, tight-roping and parkour.

At the west campus there are computers on the first floor of the library, as well as a computer lab in the basement. The computer lab has powerstrips available for students with laptops. I've never had trouble finding a computer, although I usually prefer to use a laptop. The connection speed and reliability of the wifi are excellent all over campus.

I've seen students snort coke in class and others bring flasks or alcohol to class. It's crazy.

There are students from different parts of the world with different religions in ASU, Tempe. Still the majority of them are citizens and local persons. Students from different religions hang out together and make lot of fun activities. It's a nice university and almost all the students from different culture and ethnic background are widely acceptable. There are very very few cases where students are targeted for racial diversity and in those cases if those guilty are found out, then they are punished for this activity. The school is very strict regarding ethnic and racial diversity and treats everyone same.

Parking on campus would be really hectic because of limited space and long cue of vehicles. So it is always advisable to come early and park the vehicle on first come basis. Also be careful in parking your car in correct parking locations, otherwise there is a maximum chance of getting a parking ticket.

There is a nice mix of options from cafeterias to a number of chain restaurants. The hours are convenient and the locations are within easy walking distance of student dorms.

Scholarships are easy enough to find through the search, and they will keep you updated with deadlines and applications. One universal application can be submitted to apply for several awards at the same time. They also give out plenty of resources to find other aid.

The weather is typically pleasant and warm around the area, though some would say it can get quite warm in the spring and especially the summer. Lots of interesting museums and centers to visit, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants to balance out the learning time.

Health & Safety:
There are tons of "Help" buttons located around campus that glow neon blue so if you are every in immediate danger there are options. There are also a plethora of campus police and activity around campus.

There is a very strict Greek policy and president Crow is dead set on turning around ASU's reputation of a party school.

The computer labs tend to have classes in them, but if you go later at night there are plenty of open computers. There is no free printing in the labs, however the library has free printing! The wireless connection is terrible in the dorms though, so make sure to have an ethernet cable.

Phoenix has a large variety of apartments to choose from, however it's in the middle of a city, so prices can be rather expensive. The light rail provides a ton of more options however so you can get out of the expensive city living and live a couple minutes away from the school.

I'm at the Downtown Phoenix campus in the middle of a city, so there are only a few places to eat. Everything is expensive and our college does not provide very many dining options.

The process of getting into the W.P. Carey School of Business was slightly stressful and nerve-racking. This is because there are different things that are required upon admission, for example, a certain SAT/ACT score. Once I was admitted, the process was easy and they helped me in all ways possible. I will warn you though, the business school is not a piece of cake! Be prepared for challenging coursework.

I never use the computer labs at ASU since I have my own laptop.
I think it is worth the investment to buy a laptop because you will never have to worry about not having access to a computer. Network reliability and speed are great, but ASU will have Blackboard issues occasionally. Wireless access is great and convenient; I don't recall ever having any issues with the wireless internet.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
