Living on campus can be a great to moderate experience based on the dorm you've been selected to live in and the roommate that will be sharing this space with you. For the most part, ASU residential life is not too bad depending upon your habits. If your social life is more important to you, it is suggested that you try to get into the dorms in the North or Central Neighborhood. The South Neighborhood is newer to the ASU community and includes Hassayampa and Barrett Honors College dorms. These buildings are nicer, with a modern vibe to the facilities, but there is not as much of a community feel as the dorms that have been around campus for quite some time. There are so many dorms to choose from, but you will often room with individuals who are in the same discipline as you. For instance, Central Neighborhood is more geared for business majors, whereas Palo Verde Hall is priority housing for engineering majors.

As far as dorm life goes, you cannot be too picky when it comes to cleanliness, as a lot of the dorms are very old and outdated. The rooms are spacious enough if you don't bring all of your belongings with you. Ladies, do not bring every single clothing item with you because you do not have the closet space to fit everything! Your roommates and suitemates will be sharing a bathroom, which is one advantage to ASU housing compared to other universities. And, most importantly, you can roll out of bed 10 minutes before class and still be able to get there on time!
