Campus police, though well intentioned, are often inconsistent. If you get caught with alcohol on campus or in the dorms, it will be confiscated, assuming you are underage, and you’ll likely have to meet with your hall director to schedule alcohol education classes (euphemism for junior AA meetings). Many students who have experienced residential life at ASU have also experienced the wonders of getting a Minor In Possession (MIP). Drugs are a different story. Campus security may or may not notify Tempe police when they catch a student with illegal narcotics. It depends on the quantity, severity of the infraction, and the general mood of the officer who caught you. The best approach is to assume you’ll be arrested for any major violation. So don’t get caught.
While some students say it’s possible to drink your heart out and not get caught, it’s difficult because the smallest amount of excess noise will bring the campus police to your door. Even if you are 21, it is possible to get in trouble if you have underage friends hanging around while you’re drinking. Your best bet is to stick to house parties if you’re underage, or at least be extremely careful about the noise level in your dorms. At the same time, it’s important to understand the consequences that can come from things like drinking and driving. A freshman girl was hit and killed here several years ago by a drunk driver while she was crossing the street. Maybe the ASU police could be more lenient about MIPs, but as far as DUIs, they are only trying to protect students and prevent accidents. Try to remember that campus security’s top priority is to keep peace. Few among them receive gratification from ruining your fun.

Certainly Policed
There are often cops around at night, and CA's around during the day. It is definitely easy to get away with drinking etc. if you are smart about it and dont cause commotion, though

Scholarship
Arizona is planning on cutting back the scholarship money offered to students. Huge mistake on their part since they are also cracking down on students for drinking. They are not prestiage enough to turn away so many possible students.

College Prowler guides are in the hands of students throughout the entire process. Because you can't make student-written guides without the students, we have students at each campus who write, edit, and survey their peers for every guide that we publish.
