Off-campus dining is exceptional. There are so many places that it’s impossible to try them all! There are Italian spots, cafés, sushi bars, Irish pubs, pool halls, clubs, a brewery, and much more. Best of all, these places are all easily accessible on foot. There’s certainly no shortage of great food in Tempe, and most locations double as hip college hangouts after dark. Many of the places accept Sun Dollars and offer student discounts, or at least lunch specials. For quick bites, the Chuckbox hamburgers, and Dilly’s Deli seem to be widely known favorites. For sit-down lunches, dinners, or more upscale dining, The Bamboo Club and P.F. Chang’s are two Asian cuisine places that ASU students are crazy about. They both offer family style eating, large portions, and a casual atmosphere. Macayo’s is one of the favorite Mexican restaurants, but there are so many to choose from.
Because of the close proximity of so many restaurants to ASU, students living on or near campus need not drive or rely on public transportation to eat well any day of the week. Mill Avenue dining is eclectic, affordable, and top notch. If you should ever tire of restaurants in Tempe, or desire a change of scene, might I suggest you visit Old Town Scottsdale or the Biltmore in central Phoenix? While the on-campus and off-campus prices are probably not far from each other, the off-campus restaurants and food certainly have a much better reputation. With so many simple American places, as well as a dazzling variety of ethnic restaurants, there seems to be something for everybody’s taste buds. Not only are the nearby eateries good for lunch or dinner, but they are also a great place to socialize, grab a drink, or meet new people. The many hot spots along Mill Avenue are constantly flooded with a new passage of students every day. With everyone’s busy schedules, the convenience of the many good-quality restaurants so close to campus is surely a plus for ASU.

Good Off-Campus Options
While the restaurants are a bit expensive for me, I like to eat off campus at buffets (lots of vegetarian/pescetarian options there!) and sandwich shops. Sushi and other places are very connected with the university, providing discounts, specials, and more reasonable prices than other similar places.
Very trendy spots with special courses and unique dishes. The service is also great.
Although, these options can quickly become routine and I find myself traveling further for something new.

Plenty of Options
You will find a load of restaurants in the area to fit your needs and Tempe/Phoenix/Mesa area gives you plenty of variety. The only reason I gave a B+ is because the cooler restaurants are found a few miles off campus so a car is beneficial. And if you have time to make it to the malls, you will be smiling with all the great food in the area.

It Just Like Most Places
There is a good variety of cultures and preferences represented in the Off-Campus Dining, however it is a little pricy.
