Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Though some students are occasionally discouraged by the school’s sub-par academic reputation, the lure of all manner of social temptations, or the University’s confounding and convoluted bureaucracy, most discover those feelings to be only temporary. Any student with a capacity for commitment and initiative, as well as a certain social aptitude, can tell you that Arizona State is a terrific environment in which to achieve the sort of growth, both personal and academic, that is expected of a college education. ASU is a large school with a diverse culture and a lot of great people. Students feel that they have met people that have all changed their lives in some way. It’s agreed that there are endless things to do here, and there are never-ending possibilities and opportunities as well.

For many, college is all about breaking away and living your own life; that can be hard if ASU is around the corner from your parent’s house. Still, there is amazing opportunity for growth and learning here, and even if you are from the local area, it’s possible to break away and get caught up in the separate world that lives within ASU. While the Greek life here is nothing to brag about, parking sucks, and the campus police are kind of a pain in the butt, ASU students still have plenty to be thankful for. If you want a place that has what seems like infinite sunshine, the best nightlife and social scene you could ever ask for, and a wealth of academic choices and opportunities, then ASU just might be your school. In the heart of a growing city, Arizona State in Tempe has been a wonderful and special experience for many. As a native of Arizona, I’d long taken ASU for granted. But it’s a great place if you come for the right reasons and pursue the things that you love. It may take a few years to figure out where you belong, so give yourself the chance. ASU is a great place for meeting new people and stumbling, sometimes quite literally, into adventure. I urge you to visit ASU and see for yourself, and if you are still so inclined, buy the ticket and take the ride.

The ASU Experience

Overall, the experience I have had at this university has been enjoyable. I participate in a club that relates to my end career goal in becoming a Physician Assistant and have had many fun opportunities participating in events with the members. I did not live on campus at all and I would have liked to be able to do that. Nightlife on the popular Mill Ave is always fun and full of college aged people that you can relate with. I would definitely chose ASU if I had to do it all over, however, I would chose to be more involved in the over all campus scene.

Love ASU

Overall, although it has only been 2 years, I loved my ASU experience. I could not have asked for a more perfect freshman year. The ASU experience definitely lived up to my expectations--raging parties and good looking people. Besides the parties and people, despite what many think, ASU has outstanding academics as well. The business school and journalism program are excellent and also add to my pride of being a Sundevil.
