Dorms, a library, computer labs, a fitness center, a pool, an eatery, and a game room are among the things that make AWC an outstanding college. Walking on campus, it doesn't seem like AWC was built in the middle of an arid region because of the well-maintained green landscapes that cover the campus. The providence of the Colorado River supplies water to the entire Yuma region. Students spend a lot of their study time at the computer lab, which has more than 120 computers equipped with all of the necessary software for their courses (Maple, SPSS, AutoCAD, etc.). Opening early in the morning and closing late at night, the computer lab is maintained by lab aides who also assist students in using the computers. The library also has computers that students can use, but the best thing about the library is that besides providing the necessary reading, visual, and audio resources, it also provides reading areas and study rooms of different sizes for group and individual use, equipped with audiovisual amenities for students’ needs. Some classes, recently innovated, are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, while others are designed simply and are used depending the type of course.
Students can get connected to the campus Wi-Fi from the library, eatery, Starbucks, and almost anywhere on campus. The network is reliable, thanks to the help desk service which maintains the technology on campus. Students can check out laptops at the Student Success Center and rent scientific calculators at a very low price. The Student Success Center is dedicated to providing free tutoring to improve students’ academic performances.
