To My Knowledge, Armstrong Has a Small Drug Scene – I do not have much knowledge of the drug scene at Armstrong. I assume that it depends on the group of friends that you associate with. To my knowledge, Armstrong has a very small drug scene.

Extremely Diverse – Many different people walk the campus of Armstrong Atlantic State University. We have people from all backgrounds, religions, and sexual orientation. Armstrong also provides our study body with clubs and programs to promote diversity.

When it's cold, it's very annoying to travel to class. The weather is usually ok.

The application to get into the college is pretty straight forward and generic from other colleges. What you do have to watch though is financial aid and how it pays for everything. If you aren't careful, there's going to be some random fee that you don't know why it's there and then you have to pay it whether you like it or not. A warning to freshman as well: if you're an overflow freshman that's just stuck somewhere, the housing fee is going to be 75% of the original cost. If you're moved somewhere, you'll get charged the other 25% just for moving. I was not told about this until two months later. I was able to work it out, but I still did not like it at all.

Few Restrictions – I've been on campus for a few months, but when compared to other colleges that I've seen, it's about the same or better than most. There's no curfew for students for getting back to their dorms. You have to have a campus parking permit though to park your car. There's the normal safety regulations that apply to campus. There's no restriction on where you go on campus as long as it doesn't violate a city or state law, and if you can actually get there.

AASU is pretty tough on attendance. 3 absences and they'll drop you from the class. It's good and bad, I think - good because it makes you get to your classes and bad because, well, sometimes an 8am just doesn't sound appetizing! Parking is pretty tough - lots of students and no one wants to park in the nosebleed spots. But the professors are generally really relaxed - if you have a problem - personal, academic, or otherwise - they're more than amenable to having conversations with you. Going in and out of the dorms is kind of strenuous - keycards and front desk attendants, etc... Good luck trying to get your boyfriend/girlfriend to spend the night. Apartments are fine... no prison guards, but I feel bad for the kids who think they don't want to live off-campus!

It's Decent – The dining hall is basically the same as anywhere else... normal, average, middle-of-the-road food. Not bad, particularly. And of course, there's a Starbucks (a personal favorite and addiction). There are a couple chains like Quiznos on-campus too. In about a one-mile radius, there is just the same old fast-food, chain restaurants... but if you venture a few miles down the road, towards downtown, you can find some real gems. It's closed now, but I stumbled upon an authentic Indian restaurant. Spicy as anything, but so good. There are a lot of nooks to look into so it's always fun trying to find what you like.

Health & Safety:
No Worries – The nicest thing about attending school that isn't in a downtown area is that you'll be safe. There are plenty of campus police (who seem to be busier with parking tickets than needing to protect us from any sketchy people). You are completely safe. If you go into downtown Savannah, then make sure you pay a bit more attention to your surroundings, but on AASU's campus, it's all good.

Overall I give Armstrong a B+. They care a lot about their studetns and want to make sure you do the best you can. My professors challenge me but they also make sure Iknow the information and are willing to work with me. They are always available no matter what, so if you need to meet with a techer they are more than helpful. The social scene is not very intense since the University is so academic oriented but I appreciate that about the school. It keeps my head in the game and me focusing on the important things.

Parking at Armstrong is pretty good. There are plenty of parking lots and people are always coming in and out. The police officers make sure than people who park have permits so that always comes in handy when illegal parking is taking up space. he parking lots are all around the campus which makes getting to last very easy and with more time to spare.

Living on Campus – Living on campus has been the best possible option for me. I lived off campus last year and getting to and from school was a headache. I live in University Crossing which is kind of in the back but it is very peaceful and quite. There are little problems with noise or action and the police are always around if you need them. The rooms are huge and my bathroom is a little small but I can manage. My closet, which is my baby, is very spacious and I am able to fit all my things in there.

The Worst Night of Your Life – Going out under the age of 21 is impossible if you actually want to go inside. Students at Armstrong don't throw parties. You'd need a car and a friend at the hour away Georgia Southern to have some fun.

Guys & Girls:
Armstrong Students – The students of Armstrong are pretty boring. There aren't many on campus activities. The clubs I've thought about joining aren't really that active. As a whole, the student body is just a lot of laid back people that stick to themselves or small groups. It's definitely filled with a bunch of average Joe's and Jill's.

Health & Safety:
Safety at Armstrong – Campus police are always driving around so students feel safe in a campus that is generally open to the public. Any locals can come on campus and blend in on campus because there's a wide range of age groups among students. But, even this doesn't seem to be a problem.

Alright, but No Variety – At this time there is one place to eat, and that is the Galley. The food is alright but not much to choose from. Its about the same thing everyday. I usually go off campus to get something to eat. I'm glad i didn't get an unlimited plan.

Health & Safety:
Really Safe – I feel very safe on Armstrong's campus. There was never a time where i felt unsafe. The police are on watch everywhere. Even if i did feel unsafe, there is call boxes everywhere.

My process was smooth and uncomplicated. I had access to the administrative resources I needed. However, financial aid seemed lacking.
College Senior 2011-09-05T19:56:50Z
Fairly Good – My best experience has been in the classroom. I feel the professor that I work has taken the time to be detailed with her lessons.

Open Atmosphere – Being a Armstrong Atlantic State University has allowed doors to open to many academic and professional options. The staff is easy to work with and proactive. The professors are helpful and open. However, spots open for research seem slim.

savannah is full of amazing bars, clubs and pubs. every weekend is a party downtown, but it is also non students too. all of the bars and places are 21 and up so that is also good to keep underage people from partying too much.
Recent Alumnus 2011-09-02T17:05:36Z
Good Housing Options – there are many options for off campus housing in savannah. there are probably about 10 apartment complexes right near the school. the only downfall is price. if you want to live in a decent/nice aptartment then expect to pay for it. prices keep going up and up. but there are also many many houses for rent in savannah also.

I think this topic is under control because I am at school a lot and I never see people with these problems.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
