The security at Art Center College of Design are like bored suburban cops. They are uptight about the most frivolous things. Most of the students are very driven and focused on their work and don't get caught up with drug/alcohol problems. Instead, most of the time security is giving out parking tickets and kicking students out of classrooms for working too late.

Internships vary based on specific interests and design emphasis. Most of the time though, our school connects with companies that offer paid internships and are usually full-time. We try to avoid internships that require clerical duties and fetching coffee and try to gravitate towards internships that give us hands-on experiences.

The computers/network reliability/speed at Art Center College of Design are great. Most people have their own laptops, but during midterms and finals, the computer labs and printers can get pretty busy. You want to avoid the computer labs during the flu season.

The curriculum at Art Center College of Design is incredibly demanding, but often rewarding, although it may be too glorified at times. The ridiculous tuition costs are semi-reflected in the quality of the facility.

The graphic design program at Art Center College of Design prepares you for the industry if you know what your specialization is going to be. If I could do it all over again, I would choose a different major for personal reasons/interests, not because of the program. Finding a graphic design job shouldn't be too difficult.

Southern California sunshine and warmth. Although not my ideal weather, it allows for work on location year round.

During summer months it is fine. During the busier semesters students must use overflow parking or valet their cars.

The school has started to become overcrowded. They are accepting more and more students without the resources to accommodate them.

I didn't qualify for assistance and had to apply for a loan which a loan officer helped me file. it went smoothly and I was approved.

I haven't really noticed any drug and alcohol problems. I attend classes and when done I don't linger just head home.

The labs are a bit crowded so I tend to carry my Mac and do the work whenever I have free time.

we have a shuttle at school. Most people dont know of it or use it because everyone has their own car. I've used it and it has been great.

the school is not that far from downtown so there is a lot to do there.

campus is not very close to dinning areas. If you want to save time, it's probably bests to bring your own lunch.

Due to the fact that our school is literally in the middle of a mountain, we are forced to eat at only our school and the food our school offers us, which is more than often overpriced and limited to selection. We have to drive down 10-15 minutes in order to eat off-campus at a restaurant in Old Pasadena, or an In-N-Out the opposite direction, however there are absolutely no off-campus dining fast food chains or eateries which are walking distance.

Health & Safety:
Aside from the occasional theft of MacBook laptops, which only happened once or twice from the four years of my stay, the school is overall extremely safe and the security work tirelessly throughout the night (as most students pull all-nighters on campus) in order to provide for everyone's safety.

Art Center's student life, in my opinion, is almost nonexistent. As I have attended the college for the past four years, I have not seen any prominent changes in the way they try to promote any "school spirit" or "hangouts", as all the students are far too busy and submerged in too many projects and unable to attend. However, the only saving factor of the school is the great library facility, as our library has a enormous collection of amazing books ranging in almost everything, the library has been a huge resource for me during my time at Art Center. In opposition to this, however, our computer labs are often too small, and don't have enough space and computers for all the students to work on numerous projects, as this is an art and design school, I feel the urgency and need for students to be allowed availability to all computers at all times.

Art Center is one of the top leading universities in design, and have amazing faculty and department chairs who really believe in the students and try to maximize their capabilities and potentials for their lives as an artist and designer, as well as for their future and career in the arts / design field. Throughout my stay, I have realized that in order for a student to achieve and maximize their learning experience at Art Center, you must be open and willing to try new things and really engage in not only one interest, but many (i.e. doing graphic design as well as industrial design), since the arts world is becoming more of a hybrid. Since the instructors and department chairs at our school are so encouraging and great mentors, I felt my experience was truly enhanced by their guiding hands and, really, their response when they know you are a student who is truly hungry for more and always wanting and willing to push boundaries and go further, to learn more.

If you are commuting not so much, it is more recommended to find a housing near since the 210 free way is usually crowded with traffic.
