Art center has many alumni events to help mentor students, internship events, etc. Many people from the industry drop by art center looking for people to hire. Some students can even begin working while in school sometimes.

You can find help though art center to find housing. It's a website but it is not updated enough. However there are posts all around school which are more promising for room mates and such. Parking all around Pasadena is terrible though. Very strict parking codes. You may have to pay monthly for parking - $60 at the cheapest. It's a pretty safe city south of Washington street. Rent is also a bit high. One bedrooms are usually 1200 dollars and up unless you're lucky or sharing.

art center does try to organize events. many students however do not always utilize the time because of homework. The events are a good addition to the school nonetheless

Nightlife depends entirely on you and your work habits. Many freshmen or students who are lower term often do not get to go out. Upper term students definitely get to go out more partially because of better work habits, developed skills, and spending less time honing foundation skills that are required for the first 4 terms or so.

Health & Safety:
Campus security is quick to respond to theft, outsiders harassing students, or escorting you to your car if you feel unsafe. They are also diligent in informing everyone about possible wildcats or other danger animals like rattle snakes.

During the summer in Pasadena, it gets very hot and dry around 90 plus degrees. In the colder weather times, it's very nice to wear coats out and around Old Town Pasadena. The school is well ventilated so no worries once you're inside campus whatever the weather is outside.

There isn't any dorms on campus, you have to find an apartment a few months ahead. There is an ACCD housing website but it is not very helpful.

This school is considered to be one of the best design schools in the country. The work ethic and caliber of student that graduate prove this time and time again.

They offer some great scholarships. No full-rides.

Shuttles Right to Campus – In Pasadena, the buses and shuttles run like clockwork. I would get a earlier bus so you get there on time, just incase of traffic. There is a shuttle that goes right up to the Hill Side Campus, which is extremely helpful for students with no cars or rides.

Good for the Buck – If you need a quick snack or a meal, the dining hall does have options. It may be a little pricey, but you can find things that fit your budget. Best of all, they do have vegie and vegan options which is a bonus with a lot of vegan students. It is a beautiful eating area, glass walls, clean table, comforting environment. To save money I would bring your own main meal and buy a snack there.

Not Enough – More students are being accepted to a school that was built for a remarkably smaller number of students so problems arise in fall and spring terms mostly. Summer is quite a breeze.

Not Very Present – Mostly asian students make up the majority of the student body

Living in LA Is Expensive – Apartments for singles are expensive, although there are a lot of portals to finding an apartment here, the neighborhoods that are safer will reflect in higher prices. You actually pay for your neighborhood here.

A Healthy Work and Social Environment – The design of the school lends to a clean sterile space for students to create in their respective fields. It is nestled in the St Gabriel Mountainside, with great vistas looking into the surrounding cities. Deers often are spotted running and feeding in the edges of campus which provides a nice symbiotic environment with nature, allowing students an escape and relaxing moments in between the rigor of school work.

Strict, but They Need to Be – Our security isn't involved with academic/social activity, but our grading system and expectations are high for completed work. But that's what I'd like to encounter at an expensive art school. We don't have on campus housing, so campus police are pretty benign. A lot of the students at school are about drinking age anyway, so it's a non-issue. I don't even think most of us have time to party anyway.
College Junior 2012-06-28T15:37:25Z
There Is None – There is no campus housing. It would be cool if there were, but as it is, nothing to say about nonexistent housing one way or the other.

Its Southern California – A little hot in the summer, but one can hardly complain.

Gotta Love Socal – I would have to say about 80% percent of the year is perfect, warm, and non humid. The rest alternates between nicely cold with a few rainy days sprinkled in.

Good, for Me at Least. I was fortunate enough to get a generous scholarship and the process was pretty smooth. That being said, it takes an enormous amount of work to get it.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
