Quiet and Beutiful Small Town (Think 'Mayberry')

Asbury is located in a quiet and beautiful small town, about a half hour's drive from downtown Lexington, and about 2 hours each from Cincinnati or Louisville. The setting in the area of rolling hills and horse farms is very welcoming, but you really need to drive at least into Lexington for any kind of nightlife. Film festival at Asbury University annually, and some great bluegrass music year round. Great and fun town celebrations for Christmas, Halloween and July 4.

Excellent Theological School

Asbury Theological Seminary as a graduate school has had a good balance of academic rigor and strong community life. I have been grateful for the character and approachability of most of the faculty (and all who I have had either in class or guiding an independent study). The intercultural studies department has been great, with a close community within the broader Asbury community. Highly recommended for graduate studies in intercultural studies, in theology and other related subject areas.
